instafriday: week 25.

Apparently today is Friday the 13th? And apparently I didn't even realize it until just now.

Fortunately, I'm not planning on breaking any mirrors or seeing any black cats. Knock on wood.

It's also fortunate that it's Friday, friends! We've made it through another week.

lunchtime//martha stewart reading//diy-ing//ben and jerry's for the win.

Here are the highs and lows, hot off the press:

I finished the first (yes, you read that right) Hunger Games book. I loved, loved, loved, loved it and can't wait to read the second one (are you finished reading it yet, Mom?). I also want to see the movie, like right now.

Watching television in our cave-like movie theater of a family room. Hot summer days call for sitting in the dark, stuffing ourselves crazy with fresh fruit, and laughing at Modern Family.

Having my nail polish chip. In less than a full week. Any tips, fellow nail-polishers?

I made some super easy t-shirt scarves using these two tutorials and I love them. I really like infinity scarves in general and the extra added plus is that no sewing is required. Seriously, it's super easy.

I'm a little excited to go to Goodwill this weekend. We have some things to drop off and I haven't been to one in years. And after seeing these two lovely ladies make yet another video, I'm kind of excited to see what they have. I probably won't buy anything, but I still like browsing the racks.

Happy weekend! Eat lots of fruit, okay? But don't get sick or anything from eating too much. Not on my account.

  1. You are seriously making me hungry. Ben & Jerry's cookie dough ice cream is the best! And the Hunger Games was awesome– I couldn't stop reading all 3 books! The movie was really good too, hopefully you can see it soon!

    1. Sorry about making you hungry...maybe that means it's time to get some ice cream? :) But seriously, cookie dough is the best! Although mint chocolate chip is also good.

I know! I'm so excited to read the second one and I'm glad you recommend the movie as well.

    1. There was a lot of treasure hunting. I only found a little Noah's Ark for the Sunday School class I teach in, but here's to more treasure hunting this summer! :)

  3. I'm in the middle of the 2nd book...so far so good! For your nail polish woes...I make sure that I use nail polish remover on my nails..even if there's no nail polish. You want to remove the oils on your nails so the polish sticks to the nail, not the oil. I do a top coat. No base coat--that may help too though. :)

    1. Thanks for the tips! I've tried the nail polish remover one and it does seem to help. I'll definitely try without a base coat. That sounds like a good tip. :)
