This week was pretty darn good.
I drank fresh apple cider everyday.
I met some of the families from the preschool and I am so glad I did and so grateful for them, too. They're the experts of the kids I'm teaching and are a wealth of information and kindness. As cheesy as that may sound, it's the truth.
I went on a dessert run with my dad. If you're curious as to what that means, it included an evening excursion to a local grocery store that has the best desserts in the world. Together we picked cake, cream horns (cream-filled pastry in the shape of a cone), and a small pear tart. It was delicious.
I had my first solo teaching day and I think I survived! (Sorry, I had to squeeze that one in here somehow).
My sister made bread for the family. As in homemade sourdough bread. As in a crusty top and a soft, soft inside. Just add some melted butter, and you've won my heart. Quite literally.
And now I'm craving a freshly baked cake. It simply sounds delicious right now. I'm thinking baking a cake expends some calories, so it all works out in the end.
And no, I'm not counting all the calories in this post. Fall is for baking, not calorie-counting.
Enjoy your weekend and eat some lovely fall treats, will you?
