I'm sure you have all heard, seen, or read about this video. Whether it was on a blog, the television, or Facebook, this video truly deserves a post of its own.

Jennifer Livingston is a truly remarkably strong, confident, and inspiring woman. She reminds us to take a stand against bullying, something that is near and dear to my heart.

Growing up, I was made fun of. Made fun of my weight, made fun of my eye shape, made fun of my hair and clothes, as well as my quietness.

Sure, I didn't always hear the words, but I could tell people made fun of me. It's an odd sixth sense or something that I think we all know and have.

On the flip side, I've also been the girl who heard people make fun of others and didn't do anything. I know I've also gossiped about others, too. I simply let my fear of being rejected ignore my conscience screaming at me to intervene, stop talking, or just do something.

As an aspiring teacher + hopeful mother someday, I want my students and children to take a stand against bullying. I want my children to make friends, not enemies. I want my kids to be focused on learning, not on who they'll be able to sit with at lunch. I want my kids to invite new students to play with them at recess.

I want my children to intervene and listen to that little voice in their mind and heart that tells them when something just doesn't feel right.

I also want my children/students/everyone to know that they have the right to be comfortable in their own skin. We all deserve to live life without fear of being made fun, fear of being rejected, and fear of listening to our hearts.

Anyway, I just wanted to give a shout out to Jennifer and thank her for her strength and inspiration. Because when I grow up, I want to be just like her.
