WORD OF THE YEAR | 2013.

I'm jumping on the blog bandwagon, friends. Everyone seems to be doing it. In fact, it's kind of like the blogger's version of New Year's resolutions, if you ask me.

If you're not on the bandwagon (don't feel bad, because I'm just jumping on it), it's the word for the year post. The one where you think of a word that you'll focus on being/becoming throughout 2013.

For indecisive gals like me, picking one word and committing to it is just as hard as picking a pair of shoes. Or picking what to eat at a restaurant. They're all hard + life changing decisions, I tell ya.

Anyway, I've been trying to come up with what word I'll choose for 2013. Last year, I focused on the phrase, "less is more." I actually really loved that idea and loved all of the things that I came up with. But I want to continue simplifying my life and I think that picking just one word will help me with that. And before you tell me that my word should be simplify, I have to politely reject that suggestion because I think it would drive my family crazy (only because I'm known as the clean/organized sister in the family. I can't help that I like to clean!).

Right now, I'm thinking that my word for the year should be bold. I want to be bolder, I want to be braver, and I want to just do things and take that first step without any hesitation. I know that big changes are in store for this year (graduating--eep!; applying for Master's programs; applying for jobs, etc.) and I know that the bolder I am, the more changes will come. I also know that the bolder I am, the obedient I will be when it comes to listening and obeying God. Fear seems to creep into my head too often and it prevents me from doing what I know deep down He's calling me to do.

So this year, I want to be bold in Christ, for Christ, and through Christ.

Out with the fear, and in with the bold. Bring it on 2013!
