WHAT I'M LISTENING TO: STRANGELY DIM.

I mentioned yesterday that God placed a song in my heart. And I didn't want to overwhelm you with a 10,000 word post (which likely happens on a daily basis over here, but that's a different story), so I spread it out over two days. Pretty genius, right?

Anyway, back on topic. Normally, I don't listen to a lot of Francesca Battistelli's songs, but this song is amazing. It speaks so much truth and has been perfect for me this week. Let's just say I've been watching this Youtube video nonstop these past few days.

Hearing these lyrics have brought a lot of comfort to me, too. Reassurance that He's got my life in His hands and my thoughts, cares, and worries will grow strangely dim if I focus my all on Him.

I've got all these plans piled up sky high
A thousand dreams on hold and I don't know why,
I've got a front row seat to the longest wait
And I just can't see past the things I pray, today

But when I fix my eyes on all that You are
Then every doubt I feel deep in my heart grows strangely dim
All my worries fade and fall to the ground,
'Cuz when I seek Your face and don't look around any place I'm in grows strangely dim

Sometimes where I stand on this narrow road is in a raging storm or a valley low
But oh, when I fix my eyes on all that You are
Then every doubt I feel deep in my heart grows strangely dim
All my worries fade and fall to the ground
'Cuz when I seek Your face and don't look around any place I'm in, grows strangely dim

I don't know, I don't know what tomorrow may hold
But I know, but I know that You're holding it all
So no matter what may come

I'm gonna when I fix my eyes on all that You are
'Til every doubt I feel deep in my heart grows strangely dim
Let all my worries fade and fall to the ground
I'm gonna seek Your face and not look around
'Til place I'm in grows strangely dim

What have you been listening to lately?

  2. Oh wow, girlfriend...I'm so glad you pointed this song out! I don't listen to much Fancesca Battistelli either, and so would never have heard this song and I need it. Wow, what great lyrical reminders of truth and what to focus on when things just aren't going the way I always thought they would. Which is like...everything. Thanks, Kiki!

    1. Yes, they're definitely great lyrical reminders of truth. I know I write this a lot, but I am so, so glad we've connected! I love that we have so much in common. :)

  3. Sounds like such an encouraging song from reading the lyrics! I've been rockin' to All Sons and Daughters as well as Kari Jobe. Music is such a gift from God!
