bits and pieces.

a lovely sight to this fruit and berry lover.
It's Friday! I'm a little torn about this weekend, to tell you the truth. I obviously love weekends, but this weekend is Daylight Savings Time and I so do not want to spring forward on Sunday. Losing an hour of sleep and waking up in the dark will not be fun. But at least it'll be a little lighter come 5pm around here.

And yes, I'm trying to look on the brightside of things.

Anyway, here are the lessons, loves, and links from my week. I've had a few friends tell me how much they love these posts so if you write one of your own, please add your link in the comments!

A wreath perfect for spring.

I really like this outfit. I don't think I could pull it off, but it's so pretty, don't you think?

The encyclopedia of an ordinary life.

I started watching this show called Duck Dynasty last week. Let's just say it's my guiltiest pleasure yet. I can't help that they're hilarious. And they drink out of mason jars, so I guess they're pretty cool, too. Although, their frog-eating redneck ways do scare me.

A pretty colorful wedding.

This was a wonderful post for me to read this week.

Are you praying before you post? I read this, loved this girl's wisdom, and have decided to change my praying ways. Will you keep my accountable?

I answered some questions with some other lovely ladies on Megan's blog this week. Check it out, okay?

Earlier this week, one of my classes was cancelled. At first, I was disappointed because I love that class. But I think God had a wonderful reason for doing so. I filled that extra time on campus by listening to some amazing worship music, catching up on blogs, and just reminding myself how much He fills me up each and every day. It was an amazing way to start my day.

A wonderful reminder that God is good--no matter our relationship status. Love this girl!

Last Sunday's sermon on Paul was perfect for me. Especially when my pastor talked about patience and perseverance. Those are my two new words to live by. Or at least try to live by.

God's grace is truly amazing.

Print and hang this up, okay?

The giveaway winner was announced and I urge you to read the winner's email. It truly is a sign that our God is good!

Have a great one, friends! And I actually have posts planned for this weekend, just in case you're bored...

  1. omg! i totally forgot about daylights saving! noooo! i have to wake up at 6 which will like 5!! UGH!!

thanks for the reminder though. otherwise i would have been late!
    have a great weekend!!!

    1. Haha, no worries! My dad kept talking about it and so I just had to take a minute and complain about it (and I guess subtly remind people, too!)! Glad to hear you won't be late now! :)

  2. Hi Kiki, I love Duck Dynasty! So glad you started watching it, it's the most hilarious show ever!
Found your blog through The Brotherton's Blog, and am a new follower! Would love for you to visit my blog!

    Have a great weekend!!

    1. Duck Dynasty is definitely the funniest show! And I love the Robertson family. Seriously, they're way funnier than any other scripted show I know!

And I love the Brotherton's, too! I can't wait to check out their blog!

Thanks for stopping by!! Have a great weekend as well. :)

  3. Daylight saving time blows...but one of my coworkers said "at least you get another hour of sunshine after work" this is true, i hated coming home when it was dark, BOOOOO. :)
I can't wait to stalk through these links and read the posts!
    The skeleton key print...LOVE! :)

    1. Glad you agree! And it's true that extra bit of sunshine at the end of the day is so nice--especially when you have to walk the dog at night!

And yes! I'm glad you like that print, it really is SO cute. I seriously need to check my printer ink status and print out these prints that I keep linking to! :)

  4. I just started watching Duck Dynasty, too! I couldn't get into it at first, but three episodes in, I'm hooked :)

    1. Same here! The first episode was just weird (probably because the beards, the frogs, and the camo were all a bit too much for me) but now I'm definitely hooked, too!

  5. Love these posts, sister-friend!! And thanks for linking to me - I went back and read that post...and was encouraged by it MYSELF (haha!. I need constant reminding that God IS good to me right now and that's He's got crazy stuff planned for my life even though I'm single. What I have now isn't second best or a holding tank until the Good Stuff comes along...but I've got the Good Stuff right now, in the every-day minutes of my life.

I might need to check out this Duck Dynasty! I keep seeing it pop up everywhere! :)

    1. You are so encouraging--and for that I am sooo thankful! And I do that all the time with my old posts. Seriously, it surprises me how much I learn from my own blog! :)

And yes, daily reminders that God is good is a definite must in life. Especially for us single sisters!!

You should check it out! They are a little crazy/odd, but they're hilarious. Let me know if you do!

  6. the way.... You inspire me, woman! :)

  7. Replies
    1. I am SO honored to have you stop by my blog!

And yes, those strawberries were delicious. Eating them made me crave summer weather and berries from our garden (those strawberries were from the store). :)

  8. First of all I'm craving strawberries now. Second of all, I loved Elena's response to the GAP card gift too! I went to bed smiling and praising that night. Third, I love that gingham or checkered shirt whatever you want to call it. I don't sew, but I now want a button-down shirt like that. Fourth, Duck Dynasty is hilarious. We don't have cable, but watch it every chance we get.

    1. I hope you get yourself some strawberries! They were so good and I wish I could send some your way! :)

And yes, Elena's response was amazing. God is so good and I love that she shared that with all of us!

I don't sew either, but that shirt and outfit really makes me want to learn how. Someday I'll learn (hopefully)...

I'm so glad you watch Duck Dynasty, too! I honestly felt a little weird posting about it because I didn't know how many people watched it, but I'm so glad I did. That family is sooo funny.

  9. I am totally looking forward to lighter evenings but do NOT want to lose an hour of sleep on Sunday!

And I LOVED Erin and Kerrie's posts this week that you mentioned! Those ladies are so full of truth and wisdom :)

    1. Same here girl, same here. At least I know I won't be the only one waking up early on Sunday! :)

And yes, Kerrie and Erin are definitely full of truth and wisdom. So grateful that you shared their blogs with me!

  10. Fun!

I am not sure what I think of the hi-low skirts. Sometimes they look cool, other times, not so much. That being said, I couldn't pull the look off. :D

Love the pretty flowers in the vases at that wedding - it looks so festive and yet classically simple.

    1. I totally agree with you about hi-low skirts. Some are definitely better than other and I couldn't pull one off, either! I just really liked the mix of the prints and textures in that outfit! :)

And yes, those flowers in the vases were super pretty! They're actually some of my very favorite flowers.

      Thanks for stopping by, Rissi!

  11. holy shoot fire girl! I'm just going to go ahead and say that approximately since my bf and I started dating back in June, watching Duck Dynasty marathons has been our Friday night thing. Shameless. I mean I know I am from Louisiana and now am in Texas- so frog hunting not quite so shocking to me. And heck I am a huge fan of fried gator. And boudin is definitely possibly better than sex as Phil says. But that show is awesome. Also, they are actually super strong Christians so I don't mind supporting them. love it!

    1. I love that you watch Duck Dynasty, too! I'm still a little put off by the frogs and such, but I think that's just the phobia-girl inside me. And yes, I love that they're Christians and that they pray at the end of every episode. It's a rare thing these days, that's for sure! :)
