It's days like today that I'm thankful for photography. Thankful that I can press a button and see pretty photos. Thankful that I can press a button without knowing what I'm really doing and still get some decent photos. Oh, and I'm thankful for my camera, too. That little guy has been part of my life for nearly four years now and I don't regret one dollar spent on him. Even if he stole someone else's heart before me (I bought him used and I like to think of him as my adopted camera).
And yes, I'm weird and I know it.
At least I don't name cars, musical instruments, or clothes.
p.s. I tried a shamrock shake with my sister the other day and wasn't too impressed. Even though I love mint, I guess I just prefer my soft serve ice cream and frozen yogurt?
Seriously jealous of your photography skills over here. These photos are all gorgeous and so full of light! Wonderful shots :) Also I wasn't super impressed by the shamrock shake either!
ReplyDeleteOh, and I'm one of those crazy people who names their car. Her name is Roxanne but I call her Roxy ;)
Thank you sweet friend! I feel the same way about your photos!
DeleteAnd I'm glad I'm not the only one who wasn't impressed with the shamrock shake! I much prefer smoothies and milkshakes to those green sips.
And no worries, I'm sure I would name my own car if I didn't share one! :)
you are so talented!! :)
ReplyDeletewhat lens are you using?
Aw, thanks! Except I really don't consider myself talented at all!
DeleteAnd I actually just use my kit lens (18-55mm). I've been wanting a 50mm lens for awhile now but just haven't broken down and gotten one yet.
What kind of camera (and/or lenses) do you use?
Your photos are beautiful! I would love a post on your equipment and photo editing software:)
ReplyDeleteThank you! That means a lot hearing it from a photographer like you!
DeleteAnd I'll add that into my post for tomorrow! Although as a spoiler alert, it's really not that exciting seeing as I'm a broke college student. :)
I echo what everyone else says - great photos, Kiki! You've got some serious bragging rights going on here, gral! I still drool over the bright, soft hue you always capture...and find myself trying to mimic it with some of my photos...although my picture taking has sorta gotten put on back burner for a little while!
ReplyDeleteYes, I concur with the Shamrock Shake. I personally thought it tasted like frosting and that's just gross. And Ikea? Feels like I've been there a lot lately!
Love this post, friendie!
Thanks girly! You're honestly WAY too kind, though! Your photos always make me want to take more portraits and I'm in love with the crispness of your photos, too! :)
DeleteAnd I'm glad I'm not alone in that shamrock shake stuff. It wasn't really my fave either!
Oh my gosh, that mountain show nearly brought me to my knees! Eek. It is so beautiful. Big beautiful mountains ALWAYS make me fall in love with God.
ReplyDeleteThat was actually a really lucky shot because I caught while my dad was driving in the car! But I'm with you, mountains (and just the outdoors in general) make me fall more in love with God. His creation is beautiful beyond words. :)
DeleteGood to know the shakes aren't as delicious as they look :) You are gifted in photography, girl!
ReplyDeleteThanks girl! And they definitely looked better than they tasted in my mind! :)
DeleteAwww... I love that your camera is "adopted." :-)
ReplyDeleteYeah, it was actually a lucky buy from a used camera store years back and so while I technically still bought him, he's still adopted in my mind! :)
DeleteGood to know I'm not missing much with the Shamrock shakes. :) Beautiful photos, girl! I need an Ikea trip asap--or as soon as I win the lottery, you know. :)
ReplyDeleteyou are such a good photographer! yum for sushi! i haven't had a shamrock shake before!
ReplyDeleteThanks, you're way too kind. And yes, sushi is sooo good. I'm so glad I've found someone who shares my love for it! :)
Deletelove these pics, girl! i bought my canon 3 years ago and don't regret a penny i spent on it either!
ReplyDeletei'm one of those that names their car ;)
Thanks! Yes, Canon cameras are definitely worth the money (and a lot of money, at that!).
DeleteI bet your car's name is cuter than any I could come up with! I'm boring and can never come up with cute ones that don't sound cheesy. :)
1 awesome pictures
ReplyDelete2 ikea! super jealous!!!!
Thanks, girl!
DeleteAnd yes, IKEA was amazing (as always). Seeing that photo makes me want to go again! :)
is it weird that i have never had a desire to try a shamrock shake? i love your photography and that sushi looks really good!
ReplyDeleteIt really wasn't great, so no it's not weird at all!
DeleteAnd thanks, you're so kind to say that about my photography!
p.s. That sushi was definitely delicious. Sushi is such a good comfort food. :)
i want that last dessert!!!
ReplyDeleteand anything from mcdonalds always weirds me out... i have never had any of their desserts. except $1 sweet teas ;)
Those little tarts were super yummy! I made them for a family get together and they were delicious! :)
DeleteAnd yeah, I agree about desserts from McDonalds. They were definitely overrated in my book! I've never had a sweet tea before (as in never) so I just might have to try one someday!
Stuck around after checking out your 10 on 10...these are amazing!! The mountain and wind chime are my favs! Also, your IKEA is way cooler than mine.
ReplyDeleteThanks, girl! You're way too kind, though!
DeleteAnd those are actually some of my faves out of this set, too!
And I thought all IKEA's looked the same? This isn't actually the one I live closest to, it's the one closest to my grandparent's house! :)
you actually are a really good photographer for someone who 'doesn't know what they're doing'. I'd take your skills over mine any day!
ReplyDeleteThanks! But really, it's all in the camera. Seriously, it is! :)
