five songs.

Day 29/31: Share five songs or pieces of music that speak to you or bring back memories.

I'm actually really excited about this one because music has really become my second language these past few months. It's crazy how I used to hate music. In fact, there was a point in my life where I wondered why people loved music so much. Well, now I'm one of those people. No longer do I associate music theory with music. Nope, now I think of the lyrics, the words, and the love that goes into creating each and every song that gets stuck in my head.

Sidewalk Prophets | Help Me Find It
Each and every line in this song has me saying AMEN. I recently heard this song on the radio and found myself raising my hands and tearing up over the words. This song is literally speaking to me right now.

Plain White T's | Rhythm of Love
I love this song. Honestly, I'm not really sure why, but I just do. I love the sound, the rhythm, and just the summery vibe that I get from hearing it each time it plays on my iPod.

Phillip Phillips | Home
I've actually shared this song and written about this song before, but I love it--especially the lyrics (and it doesn't help that the person singing it is kind of sort of cute, too!).

Hillsong United | Search My Heart
I've heard this song a lot on the radio but it wasn't until we sang it in church that I realized how relevant it is to me and how amazing those lyrics are. And it also helped me realize that they lyrics are "Without you, I am nothing" as opposed to "Without you I am not afraid." Although, I think the way I heard it originally works, too. And can I just say, Hillsong's music is amazing? Let's all go to one of their concerts together, okay?

I just found this mash-up (or whatever you call it) on Youtube and love it because it combines two songs that I love. Simple Gifts, in particular, reminds me of my viola days. Something that I didn't always enjoy, but am glad I learned regardless of those terrible music theory days.

So what's your favorite song?
I'm always on the lookout for a new workout song
(or just new song in general), so let me know!

    1. Thanks, girl! It was actually really hard for me to come up with just five songs to share and I thought for sure it was going to be an eclectic assortment of music because I like so many different kinds. :) But so glad we have the same taste in music! And yes, that last mash-up definitely took my breath away, too!

      Thanks for stopping by!
