Day 17: Share a favorite photo of yourself and why it's your favorite.
This photo (from 2010) was the result of an impromptu sister photoshoot, my dad's old tripod, a beautiful sunny fall afternoon, and not-on-purpose-but-semi-color-coordinated outfits by the three of us sisters. I love this photo.I love the sunlight, I love our smiles, and I love that it shows how imperfect we are yet how close we are, too.

It's funny, when we were younger, we disagreed, wished we were the only children in the family, and longed for the days when we would all be grown up. Now that we're sort of grown up, we're all still living in the house, having our same little disagreements (especially over sharing a bathroom!), and growing closer by the minute.

I love these girls and am proud and honored to be their sister.

  1. Hi, sisters!! Yay, this post makes me so happy! You know how much my sisters mean to me and I'm so loving how you cherish yours, too!!

Plus it is a gorgeous photo, in and of itself! Definitely one to cherish for many different reasons!

    1. My sisters mean SO much to me! And I'm so glad we can relate on the whole family and sisterhood thing. Seriously, what don't we have in common, girl? :)

And thanks! I LOVE the sunlight in that photo and I know for a fact that it's going to be a forever fave.

    1. I know, it's crazy how a few years has turned us from driving one another crazy to actually wanting to spend time together. We definitely still have our moments, but that's what work/school/time apart is for, right? :)

And thanks for stopping by my blog! I can't wait to check yours out!

  3. You are all beautiful! Sisters are a wonderful thing!
And I get it about wishing you were the only ones in the family but then growing closer as you grow up... six kids in my family and man were there some fights haha. My poor parents! But now we have such a great time when we get together. :)

    Love this pic!

    1. Thank you! Sisters are definitely amazing and something that I've taken for granted for years. :)

And I had no idea you have five siblings--that sounds like a lot of fun and a lot of siblings, too! I think it's funny how as kids we played with each other, then wanted our space from each other, and then we come to the point when we love being with each other and miss spending time together!

  4. This is a great photo... one you will treasure all your lives. I have one of my sister and I (well, OK I have MORE than one) - but my favorites are when we're being slightly silly. There is no other relationship in the world like the one with your sister.

    1. I definitely will! That's one of the reasons I love photography most--capturing moments and getting to look at them and keep them forever. I know that sounds sappy, but it's so true!

And I have tons of favorite photos where we're all making silly faces or some when we're not all looking at the camera or are blinking. I just wanted to post one that I thought my sisters wouldn't be too embarrassed by! :)
