And a special shout-out to my friend who not only asked me to take these photos, but who made me feel at ease while doing so. You'd better believe I was a little nervous when I first started! So thank you for walking through mysterious long grass, sitting on weird benches, and smiling beautifully for each shot. I couldn't have done it without you--literally and figuratively speaking.

So for all of my photography friends, got any portrait tips? I always love learning from you and would love to know your tips and tricks for taking photos of others.
Whaaat!!!??
ReplyDeleteThe light!
The location!
Your beautiful friend!
YOU!!!
SHUT. UP!
You've done this before.
These photos are absolutely gorgeous! Every single one of them. Photography is your thing friend! Keep doing it!
Aw, thanks! But I think you're as shocked as I am, girl! Seriously, it was pure luck with the sunshine and locations. Pure luck.
DeleteAnd your reaction truly made my day! I couldn't have done it without you and your photography knowledge! I definitely kept the natural posing thing in mind when doing this and I'm a little proud of how they turned out (is that bad to say?). But seriously, we need to do a photoshoot together sometime--mostly so I can see you at work first hand. :)
They turned out great! I love the setting. It's simple but it adds to the pictures. Keep it up!

Thanks, Taylor! I was really in love with the locations we shot at, too. After shooting there, it makes me want to go back and shoot there some more! And yes, I definitely hope to keep taking photos in the future. :)

ReplyDeleteThank you, friend! You're way too kind--although it definitely helped to take photos of such a beautiful person + friend! Someday we'll have to take photos together! :)
DeleteThey are seriously all so beautiful! My favorites are the one black and white walking down the path and the close up with the tall grass behind. SO PRETTY! Fabulous job! :o)
ReplyDeleteThat was one of the first ones I did and the ones I loved the most, too! :) Thanks girl! You're so sweet and I still can't believe they turned out that well!

Amy!!! Thank you so much! :) Seriously, that means a lot. And it means a lot hearing that from someone who's seriously amazing at taking photos and providing me with photo inspiration. Seriously.
Deletep.s. Was that enough "seriously's" for you? :)
Girl these are amazingggggg!! I don't know the first thing about photography, but the lighting in the firsts ones look amazing!! You have a serious gift. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, girl! :) Honestly, the lighting in these shots amazed me and continues to amaze me! Those photos were taken at the beginning of our shoot and I was just clicking photos and hoping for the best. I don't think I even fixed a lot of the settings, to be honest!
DeleteThanks again! Hearing this feedback has really made my day! :)
Oooooh wwwooooo!! Kiki, these are beyond gorgeous! How do you do it, friend?? Beautiful posing, beautiful light capture, great backgrounds, seriously, this is SO professional looking! You have every reason to be soo proud of these!
ReplyDeleteCan I hire you to do me? That's the thing about being the one behind the camera - there's no one to take a "professional" shoot of you. :)
Aw, thank you friend! Aside from a few of the photos, all of the posing was my friend (she's a natural!). And the lighting and locations were pure luck. Seriously, we just started snapping photos and I would look on the camera screen every shot or two but couldn't really tell if everything was focused or too sun-filled. But now that you mention it, I am a little proud of them! :)
DeleteAnd um, YES! I would love to take photos of you! We would have so much fun and I would ask you to do the same for me! :) And I totally understand, as the girl behind the camera, I have very few photos of me in front of the camera! We need to change this, girl. We really do.
these pictures are fabulous! loves your poses, smiles and outfit ;)

ReplyDeleteHaha, when I got the email notification for your comment I was trying to remember what the post title went to (yes, my memory is terrible!). :) And I've actually been meaning to let my FB friends know that I want to take photos of them--and I may or may not have a few opportunities coming up (totally informal ones). Come over here so I can do a photoshoot with you!
