If you've known me long enough, you'll know how much I love berries. To be completely honest, it's the summer fruits that make me the most excited about summer (it's also what gets me through those hot summer days--80 degrees is literally my max). I love yellow melon, juicy nectarines, crunchy grapes, and berries. Especially the berries. Berries in the Pacific Northwest are arguably the best ones in the world. There's something about the rainy weather that makes these berries juicy, plump, and so delicious come summertime.

And even though strawberry picking means crouching in the hot sun, overhearing other pickers' conversations, and getting dusty flip-flop tans, it was so worth it. All of those little berries (some were literally the size of my pinky nail!) hit the spot and were oh, so delicious in fresh strawberry sorbet. It's summertime, friends.

Oh, and I love my sister, too. I've been so spoiled getting to spend time with her this month. We've been running, playing music, shopping (really window shopping, but still), and now berry picking together. I feel like I'm reliving our childhood days when we did pretty much everything together. And now I can't wait to have sister summer days with my little sister, too.

Are you a berry fan? Or a summer fruit fan? What are you looking forward to most this summer?

    1. Sisters are definitely the best! And it's funny you say that because up until this past wee, it was a few years since I've been strawberry picking. :)

    1. That's crazy! You've never been? Well, you really need to go now. :) But cherry picking is a lot of fun! We have a tree in our yard, but I've never actually been to an orchard before. It sounds like fun!

    1. They were definitely delicious. To be completely honest, aside from a bag in the freezer, they're almost all gone. That's how fast berries go in this house.

And thanks girl! The sun was not my best friend that day and I'm glad you overlooked the fact that I look whitewashed because of it. :)

    1. If only I could send some berries your way (of course that would only work if we still had some--berries seriously disappear so quickly in this house, haha!). :)

    1. Berry picking was a TON of fun! And I hope you get to go this summer and cross it off your bucket list! I have to say, seeing that on your list is what inspired me to go! :)

  8. So fun!! There's a strawberry farm near my house, but I've never gone picking there before. I may have to now! You've inspired me to go finish the rest of my peach/spinach/protein shake!

    1. You should definitely go! There's something about picking your own berries that makes them taste *that* much better. I hope you get a chance to pick some! And you're so lucky that there's a farm near your house--I wish the farm I went to was closer. :)

  9. So, I tried commenting earlier this morning, but it went all weird on me and wouldn't let me leave it. SO, I'm back for round 2. ;)

Lovely photos! There is a thriving blueberry farm just down from where Home is and we often go get fresh berries there. I should go get some and freeze them. That's how I like to eat them. :)

    1. Oh no! I wonder why it did that. I'm glad it seems to be working now, though!

And thanks girl! Blueberry farms are so much fun and I hope you get to go! We have like six bushes in our backyard so I know exactly what you mean about eating them frozen. That's one of my favorite ways to eat them, too! I especially love eating them in my cereal. It's soooo good. Weird sounding, but delicious. :)

    1. That's so funny because we get that all the time but neither of us see any resemblance whatsoever! But maybe its just because we see each other all the time. :)

And fresh berries are THE best. And now I feel like I need to go picking again because except for a bag in the freezer, they're all gone!
