WORDS.

I know that you're all probably tired of coming to see a post full of words and instead finding a Youtube video (are you?) but I can't help myself from sharing them. And this one is no exception. After seeing this video, I couldn't help but ask myself what words I would choose if given the chance to write on one of these walls.

After some thought, I would probably choose something that one of my (favorite) teachers from high school told me. She's also the teacher who I credit for helping my choose my current career path, if you're curious. I think she told me these words when I was talking (read: crying) to her in frustration about some of the group drama that was going on.

"The only person you can change is you."

Those words speak so much truth, don't they? They're also words that are hard to swallow at times. I know that at least for me, it's so much easier to put the blame on others when I'm really the one who needs to change. Sure, we all make mistakes, we all have bad habits, and we all need to make changes. But I'm not responsible for changing other people. I can lead by example, but I cannot change others. That's not in my job description and it's something that I need to remind myself of daily. Which, if you think about it, is a little stress-relieving. Changing people is not my responsibility--but it's something that God definitely can do!

So what quote would you choose?

  1. Ooh, wow...what a neat project. So many good quotes I could choose from, some deep, some not so deep.

Honestly, one of my all-time favorite quotes comes from the book Christy by Catherine Marshall.

"The only time I ever find my dealings with God less than clear-cut, is when I'm not being honest with Him."

Perhaps not the kind of quote that you'd put up on a board of sticky-notes, but it's my favorite. Because I've found it to be true so many times in my life.

    1. It really is a cool project, isn't it? I love this idea and I think it would be so cool to have one in my hometown! :)

And I'm with you, there are a TON of quotes that I would want to pick from (especially a lot of verses and other random pins I've found on Pinterest). And I REALLY love the quote you got from Catherine Marshall--there is so much truth in that quote! :)

    1. It's definitely tough! And as an indecisive gal, I'm pretty sure I would take multiple sticky-notes for a project like this! :)
