Surprise--we went to the beach (again)! But sometimes all you need is a weekend away from the internet to remember that A.) God's creation is spectacular B.) that you need a break and can actually survive without the internet, and C.) that the internet is a great boredom buster.

This past weekend was full. As I mentioned in earlier, our family decided to hit the beach last-minute and ended up in a cozy (aka tiny) little cabin-like cottage on the beach. The weather was chilly, the Margherita pizza was delicious, and the views were amazing.

For all my fellow hikers out there, on the second day of our trip, we went on a 2+ mile hike down a muddy trail that ended at a nearly empty beach (there were only four or so other people there!) with the bluest waters and the prettiest fog ever. If if wasn't for the amazing views, I don't know if the muddy trail would be worth it. But the beach to ourselves? I'll make that hike any day.

Over all (are you still reading this?), it was a splendid weekend and while I loved every minute of it, Dorothy's still right because there's no place like home--especially when you're referring to your bed.

  1. love this - your family looks so fun! all the pictures are so loverly (i may be just a leetle bit jealous of your camera;)), and you're right - sometimes an internet-free weekend is much-needed. i hope it brought you closer to God and to your family. <3

    1. Thanks, girl! It's trips like these that really do remind me how much I love my family--even if we do get on each other's nerves somedays! :)

And girl, I always get jealous when I see other bloggers' photos, so I know how you feel! If it makes you feel any better, I'm pretty sure you can buy the same camera as mine for pretty cheap online if you're interested!

And the internet-free weekend was definitely much needed and it really made me grateful for life with and without it; it's all about balance, right? :)

    1. Thanks, girl! And yes, an unplugged weekend with my family was EXACTLY what we needed. It not only made me more grateful for my family and God's creation, but for internet (and time away from it, too!). :)
