BITS & PIECES.

leaves
The rain's back, my friends. The stringy wet hair, wet ends of your pant legs, puddle jumping, over-sized raincoat goodness. But in a way, I'm glad. I mean, it's all for the deep greens, clean ground, and fresh air, right?

Anyway, how was your week? Any plans for the long weekend?

Here's what I was up to this week. Lots of link loves, a few thoughts, and a photo, too. Have a great one!

Such a cute guestbook idea. Or just something cute to frame, now that I think about it!

Do you bloggers have planners? For schoolwork, I was always one of those girls who just remembered everything in my head, but I'm thinking a planner would be a nice place to store post ideas, keep track of posts, and the like. I'd love to know how you keep your blog organized!

Three ways to decorate store-bought cupcakes.

Blogging offline--I just might have to try this one out!

This pizza looks delicious.

Hope is always a good thing.

Cute cookie favors.

I think it's safe to say that a wedding link is mandatory during the summer bits & pieces posts. I mean, the mason jar backdrop is just too cool not to share.

Lots and lots of blogging resources to read up on.

What a great way to make your own one-of-a-kind rug!

Do you have a camera bag? I'm looking for a good leather one (preferably brown or cognac). Suggestions or good company suggestions are more than welcome!

Oh, you know, just some cute free fonts...

Find out where I want to vacation next here.

Make your own nutella breakfast cereal--say what?

Anthro-inspired confetti cups.

This DIY is way too cool (shout out to Amy for pinning this one for me to find!).

Lastly, remember when I blogged every (single) day in May? Well, Jenni's starting up another blogging challenge called Blogtember! The best part is that we have weekends off and it starts this Tuesday--so there's plenty of time for you to join in! I'm on the fence about joining this one, but I really want to and would love a friend to join in with me for accountability. Are you going to join in?

p.s. Speaking of joining in, there's still time to join in on the Circle! Click here to see what this month's topic is all about.

  1. I'm on the fence about blogtember also- I think I may just pick and choose (seeing as I blog 5 days a week anyway...)

    1. Yeah, I was thinking about doing that, too. I really enjoyed the Blog Every Day in May challenge but I feel like some of these Blogtember prompts are just like some of the ones from May. I'm excited to read your posts! :)

  2. girl you and your talented photography!!!!! We had an insane rain/thunderstorm last night...kept me up a while.
+ that is a cute guestbook idea! SOOO adorable!
+ I don't organize my blog, i probably should, it might be more consistent if i do, but i don't ever want this to feel like a job ya know?
+ that wedding...yes so beautiful! I love the mason jar backdrop as well!!!
    + great blog links!
+ not sure if you're on groopdealz.com or how much your budget is for a camera bag but they have a jototes deal going on ...i think like $80 a bag? Not bad for them. I got my camera bag off of amazon and i love it!
+ woot woot shout out! ISN"T THAT DIY SO COOL!??!? I mean, it looks amazing (and rather easy!)
+ girl i'm thinking about the september blogging challenge, but i might pick and choose which days...because ya know i have other things to update on. It really is a great challenge though, she has some really good topics!

    1. Thanks, friend! I actually haven't used my camera in more than a week now so it was long (long!) overdue.

And I know what you mean--I don't want blogging to be any more of a job (that's one of the biggest reasons why I don't have sponsors). But I've had a few different things I've had to do related to blogging (for other people), so I've started one. I'm definitely more of a mental checklist kind of girl, though! :)

I know, that mason jar backdrop is amazing. Way too amazing.

And I've never thought about using groopdealz for something like a camera bag. I've looked around on Etsy and Amazon the past few days and am trying to find a quality bag for less than $100. And I know I've said this before, but I LOVE LOVE LOVE yours!

That DIY coat hanger project is way too cool! I never would have thought to do that and I love that each hanger has two places to hang things from (please excuse my terrible hanger terminology...).

And I'm thinking I might pick and choose prompts from the Blogtember challenge, too. I loved the Blog Every Day in May one but I feel like some of the prompts for Blogtember are the same as the prompts from her May challenge. So picking and choosing sounds good to me--we'll see! I'm excited to read yours! :)

  3. Love your photography girl! you are so talented :)
The blogtember thing, sounds fun. But we already have themes in place for each month on The Quiet Place, but it will be fun to read yours, if you decide to do it.
Yes, I do organize the Quiet Place: I made a word document of different themes/plans for the blog. I schedule my posts, just cause it's easier for me to know what i am going to post on and to get ideas in place, so i have something to go off of.

    1. Thanks, Britney! But it's really all the camera's doing! :)

And I'm still on the fence on the Blogtember thing. I think I'll likely pick and choose what posts I want to include, but I like the idea of having prompts for me.

Thanks for giving me info on how you keep The Quiet Place organized! I schedule posts and have a planner of sorts, so it's nice knowing I'm not the only one who has one. :)

    2. Your welcome!
Yeah that's always nice when you don't have to think about what you are going to write.
      anytime :)

    3. It is really nice not to have to think too much about what I'll write--but on the flip side, it's also nice to come up with your own posts/ideas, too! :)

  6. // That guestbook idea is super cute and I'm now obsessed with her sight because of all those DIY's and she is based in San Francisco. LOVE that place! :)

// I love planners and don't know why I have never thought of using one for my blog! Such a great idea! I would totally do it. It might actually help me stick with writing because I like to cross things off. :)

// I bookmarked those posts on Blogging Resources and Free Fonts. Which reminds me that I need to e-mail you again for some help on using downloads! You rock for that, btw.

// Since I'm just getting back into blogging, I never did a blogging challenge before. It sounds fun and I like some of her prompts! I will definitely be picking and choosing from the days throughout September and mixing in that link-up with my normal postings. But, that will be fun for the days where I don't know what to write about or when I've been silent for two days...like this week. :/

    Happy Weekend! :)

    1. I know, that guestbook is really cute! And I've actually never been to SF before--but I've always wanted to go there!

Yeah, I just heard from a few other bloggers about using planners and thought I should give it a try--I sort of have one, but I still like the old to-do list style (as opposed to a calendar or something) so I'm using a sticky note system of sorts! Let me know if you use one! :)

And no worries! Those resources were really helpful for me (and I love those fonts!). I'm excited to see what you're working on!

And hooray for another picker-and-chooser participant! I think I'm going to do the same thing. I loved having prompts already picked out for me but when I was looking through them, some of them seemed very similar to the ones she used in May--so I'll probably pick and choose prompts to write on. Can't wait to read yours, girl! :)

  7. That guestbook is so unique! Very cute! Loving that wedding with the tree stumps and mason jars. Seriously so cute! Those cookie favors are cute--and delicious looking. (Just realized I need a new word, but really everything you posted is so "cute!") Those rugs are super unique, now just to figure out what shape I would want!
