WANDERINGS IN NINETY DAYS.

three months
If you could take three months off from your current life and do anything in the world, what would you do?

I'm a little baffled by this one--which could be a bad thing considering it's only the second day of Blogtember! Three months away from my current life? What would I do, anyway?

Honestly, I don't know. I've written and re-written this post a total of five times and I'm still at a loss of what to say. It's almost a little intimidating for me to think about. I mean, ninety days without having to think about all of the little things, all of the responsibilities I've placed on my shoulders? What would I do?

Lifting those responsibilities and excuses off my shoulders would leave me lighter, freer, and able to do so many things--and maybe, just maybe, that's the point of this prompt. To help free ourselves from what we think ties us down, and realize that these are the excuses we're using to keep us tied down.

But I digress (and apparently, when I digress, I dig deep).

My ninety days would be spent seeing things and meeting people. Taking photography classes. Leaving the country. Writing every day. Meeting a blogger (or two or three or four). Investing in my hobbies. Learning how to cook. Buying books. Painting my room. Reuniting with my best friends. Eating lots. Crying a little. Loving more.

So maybe this post isn't about wild travels or extravagant dreams for me. Maybe it's not about dreaming, but doing. Maybe it's a reminder that I can't use responsibilities as excuses.

Maybe it's a reminder that God wants me to do more and think less.

So tell me, what would you do with your three months?

    1. Aw, thanks Teresa! That honestly means so much considering I wavered between publishing this post or just scrapping it all together! :)

    yes.

    i'd go to europe. obviously specific places. but i'd high tail my booty outa here and go see what i believe is one of the most beautiful places on earth {and of course eat the food...and try the wine ;)}

i think you left off "go to florida to see megan"

    1. Thanks for affirming that thought, Megan. It's so easy for me to think that my thoughts are just thoughts and not truth. :)

And Europe sounds good to me! The food sounds delicious and the sights sound beautiful--just imagine how many photos there would be to take!

And um, let's just go to Europe together, okay? It'd cross two things off my list!

  5. I had a whole response and then blogger told me it had a problem. :( I'll do this again. :)

I love what you chose for your 3 months. If I could do anything with no worries I would totally travel. I chose going to London, Greece, and Paris. If I could take off tomorrow, I would do it in a heartbeat.

When I was looking at the posts of others I saw that a couple of people said they would do some volunteering. I love the idea of helping others and volunteering. I've always had this crazy idea that on my honeymoon (if that time happens) that it would be fun to do some mission work or volunteer together for a day. Is that weird? Probably. ha So, I would probably add doing some volunteer work in there. Leave a place better than I find it. :)

    1. Oh, Blogger, what are we going to do with you? :) That's a bummer that there was a glitch--I hate when that happens.

And traveling sounds amazing. I'm a homebody, but that doesn't mean that traveling isn't on my someday (hopefully soon!) wishlist! And I so forgot to include volunteering (it was actually the focus of my second edition of this post, but it somehow got lost in between all of my editing sessions for that post).

And girl, it's definitely not weird to go do mission work/volunteer on a honeymoon! I would so love to do the same! One of the things I look forward to most if I get married is serving with and adventuring with my future husband. It really sounds like such a great memory and life-changing experience to do together!

  6. that sounds like a brilliant 90 days!
all of those things would be doable and needed! Here's to hoping that even though you can't escape for 90 days you can start crossing some of these off!

    1. Amen to that, girl! I so agree with you--I wanted to list a ton of things that I didn't think I would ever do, but then I realized that there are lots of things that I can do and want to do, so I stuck with that. :)
