BITS AND PIECES.

thistle

This week kinda really flew by, didn't it? I always think it's funny how some weeks crawl by and some fly by. And by the fact that we can describe the days of the week by different animal actions.

But I digress. Here are the bits and pieces from my week. One photo, little lessons, and lots of lovely (fall!) links. Enjoy, my friends!

You had me at streusel topping.

Five things you (and I) should try this fall.

Loved this post. So many great things and such a great example of how great our God is.

Three perfect fall outfits.

One of the kids this week gave me the best look of confusion this week when I told him that teachers don't live or sleep at school. I'm pretty sure he didn't believe me--but I can't really blame him because I used to think the same thing!

And the perfect fall bucket list.

I'm kinda loving this color right now.

Wow, this looks good. And no, I'm not talking about the good-for-you kind of good, but the oh-my-goodness-this-looks-amazing kind of good.

If you swap buttons on your blog, I highly suggest swapping with these two ladies (and me, too!).

10 best pumpkin recipes.

Glitter + pumpkins? Sounds like a good idea to me.

13 ways to tie a scarf.

This past weekend, I realized just how much I miss spending time with my family--especially my mom. During my post-graduation extended summer, I spent a lot of time chatting and helping my mom out and I feel like I'm the closest I've ever been with her. But enough of the sappy talk--that's not where I wanted to go with this little bit of my week. I guess I just wanted to give her a shout out and tell her that I really do miss my mommy, too sometimes (that's something we talk to kids about at school, in case you're wondering!).

You have got to check out this girl's cute printables. They're simply adorable (and as an added bonus, they're free!).

Be the beauty.

And on conditional love for our bodies--this was a truly amazing post, if you ask me.

Fresh apple cider from the farmer's market is definitely my fall drink of choice. But with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top? Sounds like the perfect dessert to me!

The best birthday blog post I've ever read. Like ever.

If this pin doesn't give you a heart or gut check, I don't know what will.

And some food for thought for this weekend.

Have a great one, friends! Enjoy the lovely fall weather, okay?

  1. 1. I need all of those fall outfits asap.

    2. you are so kind to link me in this post!

    3. I know exactly what you mean about weeks flying by. Did you have Columbus Day off? I think that's why I felt like the week went so fast. Of course, last week dragged on because I was anticipating my mom coming to visit AND having Monday off.

    4. My cousin made homemade apple butter. She also has a blog and I think I'm going to make her write about her process because I REALLY WANT TO KNOW. Also, homemade popcorn is so incredibly easy. I add a little dash of sugar and salt while it's popping. Delicious!

    1. Oh, me too! I saw those three outfits and instantly fell in love with them and had an itch to go shopping. :)

Girl, I have loved your posts so you are so welcome (and there's no need to thank me) for linking to your blog. I am still sooo grateful that we've found each other's blogs.

I actually didn't have Columbus Day off--unfortunately, I don't really get too many days off from work now. But somehow this week really flew by. I hope you had a great week and visit with your Mom! :)

Ooh, that sounds delicious! I've only had storebought or apple butter from the farmer's market but the homemade stuff sounds so much better. I'd love to read that post! And I agree, homemade popcorn is delicious! I've only tried making it lightly salted, but I love the salt + sugar combination--I'm going to have to try that one out next!

    1. YES. Me, too. :) All of those things scream fall and I'm becoming pretty obsessed with that season as of late so I think I'll just have to now.

And I agree with you on the fall bucket list and the free printables. Those are both things that I'm always down for.

It is a great post! I've never really thought about how I love my body and how I view/value it conditionally all to often. Reading that really put God's unconditional love for me in perspective, too.

And girl, I loved that post! I feel like a lot of birthday blogging posts are filled with the fake-happy and "wish me a happy birthday" kind of feel. Your post was real, truthful, and honest and I LOVED LOVED LOVED it. :)

Those fall outfits are so cute! As are the ways to tie a scarf. I love scarves and want some new ways to wear mine.

The articles on busyness as an idol and the conditional love for our bodies = right on point. Definitely something I needed to read, both of them!
