THIRTY DAYS OF THANKFULNESS | WEEK TWO.

12
an outtake from this month's ten on ten.
11/7 Emailing with blog friends. There's nothing like an email from a blog friend that lifts your spirits and makes you that much more grateful for blogging and the amazing blogging community.

11/8 Work friends. When I accepted my job, I had no idea who I would be working with and how well we'd all get along. It's not even two months in, and I am loving each and every one of my fellow teachers. Work friends are necessary, encouraging, hilarious, and understanding.

11/9 Saturday shopping. Getting the chance to do a little window shopping with my mom and sisters was exactly what I needed. And yes, I am a firm believer in the (occasional) use of retail therapy. Don't judge, okay?

11/10: Participating in Ten on Ten. This fun photo project has been a part of my life for a good three years now and it truly is a part of my life now. Having an extra excuse to take in and capture all the beauty that I would otherwise overlook is truly a blessing.

11/11 Afternoon runs. Having a chance to run outside in the daylight is such a treat and even though it was crazy cold outside, it was just what I needed to refresh and de-stress. Oh, and it was also a not-so-pleasant wake-up call that I need to get out and run more often!

11/12 Having uneventful days. Every night for a couple years now, I write down the best part of my day. I'm not going to lie, I spent a good ten minutes on Tuesday trying to figure our what was the best part of my day. I came to the realization that just because something amazing didn't happen, it doesn't mean there nothing good happened. So yes, uneventful days are indeed a hidden blessing.

11/13 Hugs from kids. If you ask me, kids give the best hugs. And no, there is no arguing on this one.

30 Days of Thankfulness

So tell me, what are you thankful for this week? Share it in the comments or link-up with me over on Angela's blog!

    1. Mmmm....that's a great list. The cozy clothes, family, AND puppy snuggles (and everything else you listed, too!)? Sounds perfect to me. :)

  2. Uneventful days are the besttt. I have very minimal plans tomorrow, and I plan to soak up every minute of my minimally planned day. :)

    1. Soooo glad you agree! It's funny, I actually was journaling this in my prayer journal because I realized how I took uneventful days for granted. Sometimes having nothing to do and not having any problems or anything like that is just what I need. :) Hope you enjoy your day tomorrow! It sounds lovely to me!

  3. girl - I NEED more running days. by the time I get home - dark (I still run sometimes though with my reflective vest hahaha i'm such a dork) and the morning when I would need to get up and run - dark. it pretty much sucks.
I love your list though - all great things to be thankful for.

my days seemed to be jammed full - so i'm thankful for nights last night where I had the house to myself, a fire roaring, and NOTHING getting in my way of the tv haha.

    1. I'm in the same boat! It's too dark when I get home (and I'm a wimp and with the wet weather, too, I'm pretty much doomed nowadays when it comes to running) and it's wayyy too early for me to want to get up and run in the mornings. That, and with the rainy/cold weather, let's just say my motivation drops like 100%. :)

Girl, those nights sound lovely to me! When I get home from work, I honestly just want to curl up on the couch, watch TV and veg out. A fire sounds good too, now that you mention it!

    1. Girl, I'm pretty much in the same boat with you because I really just need to suck it up and run, too. Now that it's rainy and cold, I'm pretty much a chicken (who doesn't want to run on worms and slugs and all those lovely bugs). :)

And I'm grateful for blogging emails, too! I'm still so grateful for that email you sent--you don't even know how much I needed it this week. :)

And sweatpants, bonfires, and a homemade meal made by Mom? Girl, I need to add those to MY list!

    1. You said it! Similar to weekends, it wasn't until I started working that I realized just how important and amazing they are! And I hope you get one of those uneventful days (or maybe weekend?) soon! :)

    1. Uneventful days are definitely blessings! I so forgot how important they are in life (as I did with weekends before I started working!) and how they really can balance and help you keep a good perspective on things--does that make any sense? :)

And Ten on Ten is a project created by Rebekah Gough who blogs over at A Bit of Sunshine. Ten on Ten is a monthly photo project where you take ten photos on the tenth day of each month for ten hours. It's a great challenge and one that I've really grown to love. You should link-up sometime! :)

Oh, and here's a link to her blog: http://rebekahgough.blogspot.com/

  8. We're thankful for...Three and a half weeks ago we had our son by unplanned c-section!. We shared the whole, daunting and detailed First Birth Story - Not According to Plan. Although everything was different than expected and overwhelming at the time, we are a stronger family from it and are simply happy to have our baby boy in the world :)

    1. Aw, congrats you two! That is so exciting! I was actually just thinking about you guys and was wondering if your little guy was born yet. Congrats once again! I just read your post and he is truly adorable.

And you're right, even if things didn't go as planned, God's used that experience to make you stronger. :)
