BITS AND PIECES.

friday
Happy Friday, friends! It's Friday and I think you all know what that means. Bits and pieces. And if you're new here, that basically just means me sharing the little bits and pieces from my week. Lessons learned, a photo from the week, and lots of links that I loved and had to pass on. Happy weekend, friends!

You have GOT to enter my dear friend, Elizabeth's giveaway. It's just too good to pass up!

Here's a cute new app to download.

It's time to welcome winter, don't ya think?

We're getting our Christmas tree this weekend and I'm super duper excited. Do you have yours yet? If so, do you go with an angel or a star on top (or something else entirely)?

And how about some cookies and cream frozen hot chocolate, while we're at it?

I've always wanted to try bottle brush trees and now I have a great tutorial to do just that.

I am loving this Christmas exchange idea!

Did any of you watch The Sound of Music Live? I saw it go Twitter-crazy last night and only watched a few moments of it while my dad was channel surfing. Even though I personally think Julie Andrews is un-replaceable, I'd love to know if you think it's worth watching online!

Just some cute (free!) holiday fonts to download this weekend.

And this is why I blog about Jesus. Amen, girl. Amen.

How fun is this post? I'm thinking I might have to do my own take on this someday soon!

The most perfect winter wishlist (especially if you live in the PNW!).

I am seriously in love with this DIY project. The lights make it so pretty and magical!

You know how you sometimes just have to cry every once and a while? Well, it's exactly what happened this week and it was exactly what I needed. I instantly felt the comfort of friends and God's love, too. Sometimes a good cry is good, right? Except for the fact that I am one mess of a crier. Not. even. kidding.

And this one's just because you might want some more Christmas printables. I mean you can never have enough of them, right? Especially since they're free and all.

One of the best wedding favor ideas ever.

To the girl who has never dated (a MUST-READ!).

How cute is this Etsy shop?

Oh, and this shop, too!

This is brilliant/hilarious/adorable all in one.

And I know this hilarious video is all over Facebook and social media (like, all over), but it's seriously too good not to share. Happy laughing!

p.s. I have a fun post coming at ya next Monday so I'll see you then, okay?

    1. I'm with you on the cookies and cream frozen hot chocolate. If it wasn't literally freezing outside right now I'd probably be making some right now! :)

And aren't those little trees adorable? I've seen them in almost all the stores I've been to but haven't really thought much about DIY-ing them myself until now.

Glad you loved that singleness post as much as I did/do! I somehow stumbled upon it and it was just what I needed so I'm glad it resonated with you as well. :)

    1. Haha, yesss! Happy Stocking Day to you, to! My family and I aren't quite ready this time around so we're celebrating a day late (tomorrow) but a snow day is good enough for me! :)

    1. I once again agree with EVERYTHING you've just mentioned--especially that singleness post. Usually posts like that sounds scripted or cliche but this one was spot on and was too good not to share. :)

Hope you have a great weekend!!

    1. That globe bank is so old, it's not even funny. I think it was my dad's (either that or my mom's) and it's sitting on one of our study bookshelves and I pulled it down on a whim to add some decor to the Thanksgiving table. I had no idea you were a fellow money-saver! I'm the EXACT same way and have actually been on the lookout for a cute ceramic bank right now. :)

  10. Girl THANK YOU! I can't believe I didn't see this til now. :)

Also... Did you watch the Sound of Music? Carrie Underwood's voice is amazing, and she's obviously not an excellent actor but I feel like her voice more than makes up for that... I just love her. It's on TV again this weekend!! I recommend it, but I love all musicals usually. :)

I love the idea of a book exchange also! Would be fun to do it with bloggers, huh? Hmmm...

    1. Also, you are sooo welcome. I loved that post and I agree with what you emailed me, a lot of people did seem to agree with it and I'm glad they all got to read it, too! :)

And no, I haven't watched it yet! I've heard mixed reviews and normally I'm not too keen on the Sound of Music (gasp, I know) after doing a high school musical for it (I played in the orchestra pit) and enduring tons of crazy rehearsals, but I've been a little interested to see it since it was live and everyone was talking about it. I might have to see it now, though!

And that's a brilliant idea! Girl, I would so co-host that with you if you ever do it! I honestly don't feel like I have a ton of time to coordinate it all by myself, but I would love to do that! Or at least some sort of sisterhood of the traveling book or a bookclub or something!!!
