TIME FOR SOME CONFESSIONS.

A week or so ago, the always lovely Amy tagged me in another blogging tag game of sorts. This time around, I'm sharing a few of my blogging confessions, or secrets of sorts. Who know, maybe you'll learn a new thing or two about me!

q2
I think I started blogging back in late 2010. My sister told me to start a blog and use it as a Pinterest-board-of-sorts and since I was just discovering the amazing world of DIY projects and such, that's exactly what I did.

q3
I'm not really sure what this includes, but no, not really. Not a Myspace person, not a Youtuber, or Tumblr (Tumblr-er?). I did at one point have two blogs with one being a personal (anonymous) blog and the other being my DIY blog (hence my blog's URL). Since two was too much work, I combined the two and have since turned to a primarily personal/lifestyle blog.

q4
This sounds shallow, but I didn't become serious about my blog until I started making friendships and started reading more personal/lifestyle blogs. That's when I realized how important it is to share my story, my struggles, my joys, and my loves. So I started sharing more of myself and in turn started creating more friendships. Honesty is really the best policy, right?

q5
Do you really want to know? Just kidding. It was a pretty generic first blog post, really. But if you're interested here's a link to my short and silly first post.

q6
The biggest challenge I've faced while blogging is staying true to myself. It's so easy for me to compare myself to others and to try and be like someone else. There's a fine line between inspiration and comparison and that line is all too often crossed when I let my mind wander (aka over-think).

q7
By far, the community. I know everyone has said this, but how could you not? It continues to amaze me that there are people all over the country/world that get exactly how I feel. Who pray for me, who email me, who take the time to read this little blog. And as an introvert, the friendships I've formed here online are truly a blessing.

q8
Knowing that there are people out in the blogworld who think they can hide behind their computer screens and say things they wouldn't or couldn't say to someone's face. Being so sensitive, I'm lucky that this hasn't happened to me yet, but it's so discouraging knowing that it does and has happened to others.

q9
Realize that everyone has a different blogging story. I was going to say that the most discouraging part of blogging was the comparison game but since Amy said that, I'm going to touch on that here (tricky, right?). But seriously, remember that like life, everyone has a different story. And everyone's story is not going to include the same things. And yes, these are words that I still need to remind myself of everyday.

q10
Um, I sometimes wish I didn't have a blog? Don't get me wrong, I LOVE my blog and blogging community. But if I think about it for too long, I get weirded out by all that blogging is. I mean, it is a little weird that I'm sharing my heart with what others would consider complete strangers, right? But then I realize that these strangers are real and true friends, and then it's not so weird anymore. But it is a little bit weird, right?

q11
To become a full-time blogger. Okay, so that would be totally fun, but it's not exactly my current goal for blogging (although sometimes it is a dream!). My real current goals are to blog more. To share more of my heart. And to connect and reach out to more people.

q12
I think I've really solidified my passions for a lot of things via blogging. I'm not a real confident person and I'm also an introvert so I was always just going with the flow of what my friends liked/wanted. It honestly wasn't until I started blogging that I was able to find myself, my love for Jesus, and my voice, too. I realized that there are others who understand my passions and actually shared them, too.

So to answer this question, I've become more passionate about photography, writing, singleness, friendships, and being an introvert. Weird, right? Weird, but so, so, so good.

So tell me you'll still be my friend after learning these things about me, okay? Pretty please?

Oh, and if you'd like to play along, I tag you! And more specifically, I'm tagging Angela, Susannah, Amber, Samantha, Elizabeth, Britney, Jess, and Meg, too.

Or, just tell me what your blogging dirty little secret is. That's the question I really want to know!

    1. Exactly, it is definitely one amazing journey! Isn't it crazy how life-changing blogging is? When I first started, I never thought (or could have imagined) all of the opportunities, friendships, and experiences I'd get from one little blog. :)

And I agree, these questions do really let us get to know other bloggers. It's a lot of fun and I'd love to see your answers, too!

    1. Aw, thanks girl! I hardly consider myself having insight, but I guess blogging for a few years does that, doesn't it? :) And I'd love to know what your blog URL is! I can't seem to find it via your profile.

  9. when you said this:
"There's a fine line between inspiration and comparison and that line is all too often crossed when I let my mind wander (aka over-think)."
    man...YES.
I shook my head VIGOROUSLY yes!
    girl...mmhmm.
and I'm with you sometimes, sometimes it is "daunting" to have a blog - but as long as we keep the right perspective we will always enjoy it - ya know?
<3d reading all of your answers. seriously - so good!

    1. Sooo glad you agree with me on that one. I think it's so easy for me to cross that line because I tend to over-analyze things. It's a terrible habit of mine.... :)

And you nailed it! It can definitely be daunting to have a blog and think about all that a blog entails, but like you said, we just have to have the right perspective. If we're reaching out and connecting with so many people, we have to focus on that--not the negative aspects or the what if aspects, too. :)

      Thanks again for the tag!!
