BITS AND PIECES.

foggy
Happiest of happy Fridays, friends! Isn't it funny how even though we have long weekends we still long for the weekend? I know that probably made no sense at all, but still. Happy weekend!

And here's to another Bits and Pieces posts. You honestly don't even know how much I looove writing these as much as I hope you love reading them, too (insert smiley face emoji here).

On battling the should's in life.

And how to make those readers hang around your blog.

Because you really are brave.

I'm thinking about investing in some camera bag inserts instead of an actual camera bag. As the get-the-most-for-your-money kind of girl, I think this will work best for me. That, and I love the idea of being able to change camera bags (aka purses). Do any of my camera friends have removable camera bag inserts?

The best shopping cart analogy you'll ever read.

This kitchen...sigh.

And this home tour.

I tweeted this quote from this post earlier this week and couldn't help from linking to it here today. How's that for a cryptic sentence?

This is why I love coconut.

I just discovered the awesomeness that is H&M. Um, since when did they carry so many amazing things for your home? I'm suddenly finding myself loving both H&M and IKEA. I mean, is that even possible?

Such a fun bucket list idea!

Amazing and wise advice. This is actually a really good read and the advice is not only true, but something we should all actually put into action, too.

The cutest little sprinkles ever.

My life verse in printable form (found via this friend!).

And the coolest (yet simplest) mobile ever.

Because his photos are just amazing.

And because adventure and beauty IS out there. A must-read for my fellow outdoors/Jesus/finding-beauty friends.

This necklace...love/want/have to make.

I've been seriously obsessing over the amazingness of almonds. I used to hate eating almonds or any other nuts because I was allergic to peanuts (also before I realized that peanuts are more of a legume and not a nut, but I digress) but now? I loooove them. And those smoky ones from Trader Joe's? They're an amazing afternoon snack. So all of that is to say that I'm looking for an almond recipe if you've got one!

5 things you should ask yourself before posting to social media. Such a good read.

Rustic farm dinners are my fave.

32 ways to decorate with a string of lights.

And my favoritest link this week: 10 ways to kick of the new year (found via this girl).

Have a good one! The kids at preschool have been sharing germs recently so I hope we all stay healthy this weekend, too!

  1. I'm a tad bit addicted to string lights. I may have like 8 strands up in the house... when I like something I use it way too much! Overkill! Ha!

    1. I don't actually own any at the moment, but I'm the same way! I've actually started and dedicated an entire board on Pinterest to string lights because of it. So if you ask me, there's no such thing as overkill when it comes to string lights!

    1. That was my reaction, too! I've always loved string lights but for some reason have never actually purchased any (just oohed and aahed over all the uses I've seen on blogs and Pinterest, haha). Now I'm definitely thinking about adding a string or two to my room, I just need to figure out how and where. :)

    1. Hooray for a new-found and shared love for H&M! I've never stepped foot in one of their stores, but I hope to someday soon. :)

Where have you searched for TV consoles? Any luck yet?

  5. Definitely drooling over that kitchen remodel! And the grocery cart reference, so good! I love coconut too, and that donut looks SO delicious... but Zack hates coconut. (I know... he's crazy.) Those cheerio sprinkles are the cutest!

    1. Isn't that kitchen amazing? I saw it and instantly wished it was mine--and I don't even have a home of my own!

And how can your husband not like coconut (or cheesecake, right?). He is a little crazy! :)

  6. That kitchen is like "say whaaaat". I can easily burn 2 hours online drooling over kitchens. Considering we live in a studio condo...is envy somewhat constructive? Lol

    1. I know I say this all the time, but I really and truly love that we have so much in common, especially when it comes to good links like this. :)

And no Trader Joe's?!?! Girl, you're missing out.

Thanks for the healthy/well/germ-free wishes! I've been taking showers and washing my hands like crazy and am hoping to stay healthy for as long as possible (knock on wood!).

  9. // Lights and lamps in general are the best thing ever.
// Sometimes the "shoulds" do overwhelm, but I'm learning that when God wants me to step back and just sit in His presence and do something for me and for Him, I should do it.
// That kitchen is fabulous! I LOVE all white kitchens and open cabinets. It just makes it look so spacious and big. Also, I gasped when I saw that she has an oven in her island! That is so awesome!
// ABSOLUTELY agree with those tips on posting on social media. Especially #1. When I catch myself constantly checking my social media to see if I have new "likes", that's when I know it's time to take a step back.

    1. Yep, so agree with you. Lighting is the best. Although, I'm still a little partial to natural lighting, but that's just the camera nerd in me. :)

And I get what you mean about the should's in life. There are lots of them out there, but it's also important to actually do some of them, too (especially when God prompts us to!).

The kitchen is amazing, right? I've always worried about keeping white kitchens clean, but I love the airy/dreamy/spacious feelings of them, too.

And I agreed with those tips, too! Number one really resonated with me and it's actually one of the biggest reasons why I removed that GFC widget thing that tracked how many "followers" I had. It's sad that so many people turn blogging into a numbers game, right?
