GRACE.

grace

I've always loved the word grace. There's a certain beauty about that word and a certain peaceful quality about it, too. Maybe it's just the nerd in me, but I like words and grace is one of those words.

But there's more to grace than just the sound that it makes when it leaves your mouth. There's much more to it.

The word grace means life. It means faith. It means forgiveness. I came across a quote on Pinterest the other day and it really stuck. I think it originated from another blogger and I couldn't shake the words out of the back of my mind.

"Grace is forgiving. Grace is also for giving."

Grace means forgiveness. It means mercy. It means wiping the slate clean when life gets messy. It means a fresh start. It means life, and Jesus, and so much more than I could ever fully grasp or understand.

Grace is amazing. And while it's an amazing thing for me to grasp, I also need to give some of it away. I can't just live thinking that I'm the only recipient of grace. Or that Jesus is the only giver of grace. Grace is free to give and free to receive. And it's not just forgiving. It's for giving, too.

This post was written as one of my monthly features on this lovely blog.

    1. I so completely agree with you. Grace holds so much meaning, so much truth, and so much life and yet it's something I'm still learning to understand and grasp (and accept sometimes, too). :)

  2. I know your blogging schedule now! I shall never miss a post AGAIN!

What a beautiful post Kiki. I love that "also for giving". Love it! It will be stuck in my head all day now, reminding me to give grace to others and continue to serve other people. xo

    1. Yay! Congrats on staying on top of your blog reading/commenting! I'm still a little behind. :)

And thanks, friend! Grace is something that I continually need reminders for and I honestly needed that little reminder today (can you tell this was a scheduled post?). :)

  3. Wow, I absolutely love this. I've always known this, but never thought of it like this, if that makes sense. I find it so much easier to accept grace from the Lord than I do to give it freely when others don't deserve it (just like I don't deserve it from Him or anyone else!) What a beautiful reminder.

    1. That's exactly how I felt when I came across that quote! I'd never really put much thought into what grace means because it really is a packed word, but it's definitely something I'm really learning to understand, accept, AND give, too. :)

  6. LOVE this! Grace was something that the Lord really overwhelmed me with last week. Just like his love, it is something my mind cannot comprehend most of the time. But, not only is he teaching me more about his grace towards me, he is also teaching me how to extend that grace to others. Such an interesting (and hard) thing to learn.

    Great post friend!

    1. AMEN. Grace is something I'm still learning to accept and understand and give and it's definitely something that I know I'll always be learning (especially since His grace is so darn amazing!). :)

  7. man, that quote hit me right in the forhead - as did your thoughts.
we are given grace, daily, undeserving of it - and yet there it stands.
yet i can hold on to a grudge, or a hurt/pain, much longer than i should...grace IS for giving....man.
    mind - blown. <3

    1. Man, you just blew MY mind. Seriously, I love getting feedback and just conversing with you because I learn so much about you, life, AND myself. My goodness, you're wise. :)

Anyway, isn't grace something so amazing? To be honest, I'm still learning what it means to have, accept, and give grace. It's just that complex (and yet so simple, too!).
