You know how we tell kiddos to share everything? Well, I think I might have forgotten to tell them to keep their germs to themselves because I somehow came down with a bad cold on Saturday and as you can tell from those photos, have been living off of Starburst jelly beans and egg noodle soup ever since. My mom always says that when you're sick, eating food of any kind is important and since moms know best, I'm taking her advice.

Got any advice for cold-ridden girl like me? I'm thinking it was all a jinx or something because I was just telling myself that I hadn't gotten sick in ages. Joke's on me, right?

p.s. I do have to say that that upside of being sick was having plenty of time to sit down and watch American Blogger. You can expect a full post on that later, my friends!

  1. First. American Blogger. AWESOME! Second. Is the book The Fault in our Stars good? I have seen it on so many bookshelves but haven't gotten a copy yet... just wondering!

    1. American Blogger is amazing, right? I have about 20 minutes left and don't want it to end, haha. :) I'm already looking forward to Chris' next segment (seeing the "first journey" tagline in the beginning made me excited for possible future projects--not that I actually know if there are any in the works), if he makes one.

And The Fault in Our Stars is a good book! I'll admit, I wasn't too much of a fan of it in the beginning, but it really is a sweet love story and now I want to see what the movie will be like!

    1. I can't wait for you to watch it! I've saved the last 20 minutes for later tonight, but I kind of don't want it to end, it's that good. :)

And thanks! I haven't been sick in what seems like ages and this cold really hit me. Fortunately, I seem to be on the mend, though! Hope you feel better soon, too! :)

    1. Thanks, Leelee! I feel like I'm on the mend, so there's hope! :) And I'm starting to really love my bookshelf. It helps that it's getting fuller! :)

  5. Ok... I never heard of American Blogger and now I've heard of it twice in two days. What is it?
Hope you are feeling better today!

    1. It's a documentary by Chris Wiegand (Casey Wiegand's husband). He traveled the country interviewing bloggers across America. There's been a lot of hype recently (both good and bad) but to me, it was nice to see someone put a spotlight on bloggers and it was also cool to see some of my favorite bloggers interviewed, too. :)

  6. Oooh I am sorry to hear you were sick! :( Are you back to work today? My Mom once bought me a snickers bar when I was sick. And odd as it sounds, it really helped. Normally I keep my fluids up and cut sugar when I'm sick, but that time I was soooo weak and all I could think about was a snickers so she surprised me with one. lol :)

Anyway...Hopefully you are allll better! I'm interested to hear about American Blogger. I remember when they were going around filming it and I'm excited to see what made the cut!

    1. Yep, back to work! I really felt gross (read: feverish and tired) on Saturday, but I feel just a little congested now. I'm on the mend, thank goodness for that!

I'm glad you understand about eating sugar when you're sick! Even though my photos disagree, I, too, don't like to eat tons of sugar (especially when sick!) but sometimes sugar is just what sounds good. I blame it on being congested and without all my senses working well and needing some sugar for energy, too, haha. :)

And I can't wait to share about American Blogger! I still have 20 minutes left (I have a terrible habit of trying to savor good stuff and hate finishing good books/movies/TV series) but will be posting about it later this week!

    1. Yep! It's a documentary and it was one of those documentaries that made me fall in love with documentaries--does that make any sense? :) Anyway, I'm excited to share my thoughts on it and I hope you get a chance to see it soon!

And you know, sometimes it really is nice to just sit back and veg out. I hate being sick and congested, but it was a great excuse to just relax--which made coming back to work today that much harder. :)

p.s. I looove that new Blogger profile pic. It's so cute and so you!

    1. Aw, thanks! It's really coming along and I'm excited to see its growth come the end of the year. :)

p.s. I really think you'd love American Blogger! I'd share more, but then I'd basically be copy/pasting my entire post, haha. :)

    1. It's getting there! I'm still really excited for all the books I have yet to purchase this year.

And you said it! Kids don't like sharing when it comes to toys, but when it's germs, they'll pass it on to any and everyone in the near vicinity. :)

  11. Girl, the germ thing. Yeah, the one thing children will, hands down, ALWAYS WANT TO SHARE. Are you feeling better??

I love your padded bookshelf. You're inspiring me to finish my reading goals for the year. :)

    AND. Are you growing coffee???

    1. You are SO right. I told that to a parent today and she laughed but it's so true! And thanks for asking! I am feeling much better but am looking forward to the day when I'm completely better. :)

Also, what books are you reading? One of my goals for the year is to buy a book each month to help fill up my bookshelf!

And that coffee plant does actually grow beans! We've never tried roasting (I'm not a coffee fan but the rest of my family does), but just this past year we had a ton of beans. Maybe someday we will!
