BITS AND PIECES.

friday
Happy Friday, friends! Summer seems to have finally arrived because I've been hiding out in the air-conditioned house as of late. Let's just say that the heat is not for me and I will proudly admit that anything warmer than 80 degrees makes me melt.

I am a weakling and proud of it. Happy weekend, my friends! And as all those old yearbook comments say, stay cool.

Who wouldn't want to go to this fun wedding?

And because playing with your food can be super pretty.

This print makes me wish I knew how to paint flowers. Or just use watercolors in general.

Many thanks to this lovely friend for introducing me to this book. I cannot wait to get my hands on it.

A super cute (and DIY-able!) photo mobile to make this weekend.

These two bedrooms have me reconsidering painting my walls white. What do you think I should do, light (light!) grey or white?

And then there's this cute little house tour, too. I am in loooove with all of the little details and all of the layers in that house!

On silencing the "I can't" that runs in your head.

Have you heard of this project? If you ask me, it's a great one.

I so wish I didn't live so far away so I could go to this blog retreat.  Just the name and location alone sounds amazing.

This cute kiddo never fails to crack me up.

And then there's this little girl's dream re-told on instagram. I dare you not to smile while watching it!

Emma Stone nailed it with this quote.

I've seen these shorts (or ones similar to them) all over the blogworld and I kinda sorta like them. Anyone want to buy them for me?

There's still plenty of time to sign-up for the Post to Post project (snail mail supporters unite!) as well as linking up with The Circle. Because you know they're both too much fun to miss out on (it's the truth, I tell ya!).

Have a great one!

  1. I've been rethinking white walls lately too - did them in our remodeled bathroom and am so happy with the crisp & clean look! Those Pinspirations are great as well. Happy weekend!

    1. That's why I'm in love with white walls--they're definitely crisp and I love how you bright and clean it makes everything look. I only worry about painting the walls white because I have a lot of white furniture (desk and dresser) as well as white frames so I don't want it to look too crazy with so much white. Decisions, decisions. :)

  2. Girl, read Captivating!! I read it last summer and I did a couple posts about it back then. A lot of friends recommended it to me, so I had to see what they were talking about. It's wonderful--I hope you enjoy!

And yes, those shorts are wayyy too cute. If they ever go on sale, I'm thinking I'll get them. :) But for now, I'll just ooh and ahh over them, haha.

  7. I agree! I love how fun they are and I also love how they're girly without being too girly, you know? Anyway, if they go on sale, it'll be even more tempting for me to get them. :)

that wedding is too cute, the cake topper was interesting. I'm not a rustic person though, camping is not my thing. lol!

    1. Me, too! I've seen a lot of bloggers wear them and I really like how fun they are and how they're cute without being too girly or too frilly or something.

And I honestly didn't even notice the cake topper! Even though I love hiking and spending time outside, camping isn't my thing either. I much prefer running water and sleeping in my own bed! :)

    1. I'm with you on all of the links you mentioned. White walls are so simple and pretty, right? And Emma Stone makes me laugh more times than not and then those shorts. I can't stop thinking about them! :)

  11. Captivating is SO good! After you read that one, I would definitely read Wild at Heart. It's like the guy's version of Captivating. It was really interested and let's you in on some guy knowledge. Both are wonderful!

I LOVE the chalkboard cabinets in that house!

I'm going to be so jealous seeing all the pics and posts that are going to come from that blog retreat. It sounds absolutely fantastic! I'm sure they have all their spots filled, but if that ever happens again, I'm totally in! I also think we should take a giant cross country road trip and just see where everyone lives and hang out with them in their natural habitats. ha! :)

That little girl is so cute and that is the funniest story! I love the dad, "Exxcuuusee me?" haha

Emma Stone and I could be best friends. I'd be okay with that.

    1. Ooh, I didn't know you've read Captivating! It really does sound like a great book, and I'm hoping to get my hands on it soon. :) I've also never heard of Wild at Heart, either. It sounds like a good read as well (I never would have thought to read a book about guys--but I love it!). :)

And my goodness, I'm jealous already, haha. If the cost of flying wasn't so expensive, I definitely would have been game (so many bloggers are going!). But I'm hoping to attend a retreat like that someday soon--it's about time I met everyone! A cross-country road trip sounds like a great idea, too! How fun would that be? :)

I used to only like Jennifer Lawrence when it came to favorite actresses, but Emma Stone is definitely growing on me now!
