PRESCHOOL LIFE: VOLUME 3.

preschoollife
It may be summertime and school may be out, but it's never too late to share some of the cuteness that went on for eight hours everyday at the preschool I worked at. It's a full-time job, but I get to spend it with some of the greatest kids on the planet. You've gotta love teaching!

+Co-workers who buy a gift for you just because. It's little things like this that remind me how grateful I am to work with such amazing ladies.

+When kids call another teacher "Teacher Hot Dog." Yeah, I'm not so sure about that one...I guess I should be glad they call me by my name?

+When a child comes to preschool and uses his fresh scabs as show and tell and tells his classmates that "this is what happens when you run and don't look where you're going." Wise words there, if you ask me.

+When that same child later goes to the front of the room to teach kids how to do "upper-cises" and proceeds to teach his classmates how to do burpees. And these were legit burpees, too.

+When parents tell you that their child told them they want to marry you because you're so nice. If only life were that easy...

+When you have a band-aid on your finger and everyone who's anyone comes up to you and wants to know what happened. They also may or may not show you their old (and healed) owies, too. It's the thought that counts, right?

+When a child can't remember the word 'queen' to save his life and calls it a 'lady king' instead. You know how hard it is to keep in a chuckle when kids say things like that?

So do you have any kid wisdom that you've heard lately? I know everyone says this, but kids really and truly do say the cutest things ever. You've gotta love their honesty, right?

  1. The Hot Dog thing is funny... my kids call Mickey Mouse "Hot Dog" because of the "Hot Dog" dance at the beginning and end of the show

    1. Haha, aren't kids hilarious? I honestly have NO idea how they came up with that one--but I'm just glad that name wasn't directed to me. :)

  2. I loved reading this post!!! The kiddo who showed his fresh scabs for show and tell sounds like he would be one of my favorites! :) lol...Also, the one who improvised with "lady king" sounds pretty neat too!

    1. Haha, that kid is a keeper. So smart and soooo hilarious.

Oh, the things kids say. :) I love preschool in that you can really see kids learn and grow and watch their brains at work--and "lady king" was quite creative if you ask me! Passing on these little quotes and stories to parents is one of my favorite things to do at the end of each school day. The parents are either laughing with us or extremely embarrassed, haha. :)

  3. Awwww... Your kiddos sound like they were just precious! I'm sure you're just itching to start back up again. (Ok, maybe not itching... I'm sure summer break is nice) ;-)

    1. Precious AND hilarious, haha. :) I actually went into visit the kids yesterday (we offer a summer session but I opted for the break!) and it was really sweet to see them all--but I'm definitely grateful for the chance to get caught up on things and just enjoy summer!
