CURRENTLY | NOVEMBER.

currentlynovember
READING She Reads Truth's latest plan and study of hospitality. To be honest, I was a little unsure (but also excited) about this latest plan. But it's one of those plans that has gotten me each and every day and is such a great reminder that we don't need to lead perfect lives. Just lives full of love.

WISHLISTING so many things! Now that it's officially November, I'm kind of on pre-Christmas mode. Is it too early? Well, if it is, just call me an early bird. Do you have a Christmas wishlist going?

LOVING the cooler weather. This past weekend was foggy, cool, and the perfect weather for writing/blogging while curled up under a blanket and eating apple pie with homemade whipped cream. You're welcome for making you jealous.

APPRECIATING my parents. They're quite honestly the most giving people out there and have really pushed me to pursue my passions and have supported me in so many, many ways.

CREATING outfits for the month! As the weather gets cooler, I can finally pull out my sweaters and scarves and wear my boots twice in one week. And yes, that really does happen alllll the time.

ON THE HUNT FOR a cute planner for the new year. I've tried being a planner girl and even though I can't say I'm there yet, I'd love to have a planner to use for both work and my blog and am looking for the best one out there for my buck. Any suggestions? I don't want anything fancy, just simple and practical!

EXCITED ABOUT a field trip with the preschoolers! Even though they're exhausting and crazy, I love hearing their excitement (especially when we take the bus!).

LINKING UP WITH Jenna and Anne and you should, too! I love this link-up and cannot wait to find out what next month's prompts are!

What are YOU up to currently? Looking forward to the holidays?

  5. I'm in pre-Christmas mode too! I just can't help myself plus I really want to try to get things done early this year so I can just slow down and enjoy Thanksgiving and the days leading up to Christmas. This cooler weather is the best!

  6. I definitely don't think it's too soon to start your Christmas wishlist! Family members are always asking me what I want, a month in advance, so it's good to be prepared! Also, I love the She Reads Truth app, it's a lovely helpful tool.
I wrote my own Currently post over at my blog if you'd like to check it out!

  10. Yay for fall outfits! I am loving this lately! I just keep on layering, and then layer some more! :)

Kiki- I have to tell you- I just ordered the 50mm lens! Can't wait to get it! Thanks for your suggestion on it!

  11. Recently, I've witnessed some issues in the lives of others that have made me feel extremely appreciative of my parents. By God's grace, my parents are solidly founded and wise, and I've been able to learn so much from them. Not so for everyone.

Also, I love day planners! 2015 is going to be the year of the Day Designer by Whitney English for me.

  12. I am such a planner junkie too! I have one that goes through July of 2015, but I'm secretly looking for a new one to start in January. ;)

  13. Um, yes - thank you for making me feel better about the early-ness of my Christmas wishlist :) And is there something wrong with boots twice in one week?! I think not. Great photo, and thanks for sharing with us again! Always fun to read what you're up to.

  14. Where is your fieldtrip to?? I'm so excited because my first field trip of the year is tomorrow. I know I am going to come home super exhausted but they are all so happy about it, it's impossible not to be happy too!

  15. Ooh, I've never heard of those planners before! I'm excited to go check it out! :)

  16. Me, too! Thanksgiving and Christmas are my favorite holidays so I'm super excited for them to arrive! :)

  17. Same! I love the freshness that comes with a planner (and a new year, too) so I'm excited to find one that I love. Do you have any recommendations?

  18. Layering is THE best. I'm kind of sort of jealous of the fact that you have snow already! Just thinking of the cooler weather makes me want to bundle up and curl up under tons of blankets and a roaring fire. :)

And YAY!!!! I'm so glad you got the 50mm! It's definitely worth the money and it dramatically changed my photography (for the better, of course). I can't wait to see your photos! Let me know how you like it, okay?

  19. I'm trying to get myself to not go into full-on Christmas mode because I want to savor each moment and not get toooo crazy, haha. But I also like to get things done early and really enjoy the holiday season for what it is, not the shopping and stress that so easily happens. It's all about balance, right? :)

  20. Wow, that's definitely prepared! We usually start talking about it on Thanksgiving (especially with extended family members) and I'm already starting to make a list for myself, haha. :)

And I have the app, too! She Reads Truth has dramatically changed my life and it's quickly become a daily part of my routine. The current plan is becoming one of my faves!

  21. Ooh, I'm definitely going to be keeping my eye out for it! :)

    ReplyDelete
  22. Same!! I wasn't expecting to like it and learn from it as much as I have, but it's really gotten to me. :)

Let me know when you find your planner! A cute one would definitely be a plus for me!

    ReplyDelete
  23. If only!!! I definitely find myself having Fat-urdays more often right now. It's not even funny, haha.

And I should do some outfit posts. I actually have been wanting to for some time now but just don't have the energy after work (and it's wayyy too dark before then). Hmmmm...I might have to start making it a part of my routine or something! You should totally do some, too, while we're on the topic. :)

Have you found a planner? It's SO hard for me to find one that has weekly and monthly calendars that are also cute AND affordable. I have high standards for planners, haha.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Oh, good. :) I definitely have a list going and I'm glad it's not too early to start thinking and wishlisting!

And aren't parents amazing? I definitely take mine for granted WAY too often. :)

    ReplyDelete
  25. Same! They were one of my faves growing up and now I actually really love them (even though they're a little more stressful as a teacher!). :)

  26. Ours was planned for a science fair of sorts but it was actually postponed last minute so we didn't end up going. I'm a little bummed, but it's actually okay because we've had a lot of sick kids and teachers lately!

And hooray for a first field trip of the year for you! Where are you all headed? I hope you don't get too tired and have lots of fun (easier said than done, right?). :)

    ReplyDelete
  27. Glad I'm not the only one! I have to watch myself to make sure I'm not just focusing on presents allllll the time, haha. :)

And I'm so glad you're okay with boots twice in one week. I was beginning to think I had some sort of addiction to boots or something because I love wearing them so much!

  28. I'm actually not a huge planner junkie, but I've always wanted to be one. I've gotten tons of planners in my day, but always end up turning to writing sticky note to-do lists and keeping track of things in my head (which for some reason actually works for me, at least 99% of the time!). :) But I really want to try it for blogging so I'm looking for one to use now!

    ReplyDelete
  29. Sameeee! I've heard of a lot of friend's stories about their family life and it's made me way more appreciative of my own parents. It just makes me sad that I didn't appreciate them sooner in my life! We're definitely lucky and blessed ladies. :)

And I think I've heard of Whitney English before! I don't remember what her planners look like, but I'm going to look into it now. Thanks for the recommendation!

  30. I'm already making a Christmas/Birthday list as well, so you are not alone there! ha!
I'm going to need a new planner for 2015 as well. I had never heard of the Passion Planner that Meg mentioned below, but I just checked out their website and LOVE that planner. I might definitely be making a purchase and using that for work/blog/personal life.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I've never heard of this planner either, but I love the look of it! Thanks for passing on the link, Meg! :)

  32. ahh yes make it part of the routine (or just do a bunch on one saturday) and oh my gosh i laughed so hard at "fat-urdays" that is like my every night, i eat well all the way until i get home and then it's like i haven't eaten for years and i scavenge for something good haha.
and i HAVE found a planner that i plan on ordering (i'll shoot you an email!)

  33. I'm 100% in the Christmas spirit. I am the one that ALWAYS preaches and follows the "wait until the day after Thanksgiving" rule...but this year, I threw that rule right out the window. November 1 is when the music started playing and the movie stash got pulled out.

    Let's go!

    ReplyDelete
  34. I will definitely let you know! I am excited to experiment and play around with it!

    ReplyDelete
  35. I tagged yall both to win one! Maybe you will! Ha!

  36. There really is something inspiring about foggy, cool weather that gets the blog-writing juices flowing! Ha. This weather lately makes me just want to go home, put on pjs, and blog blog blog. Adding apple pie or other sweets is the best idea ever! YES.

  37. This is my go-to planner... nothing too fancy, but I love how it has days on the left and a notebook page on the right for notes/lists/whatever. It also has a monthly view and pockets for receipts/scraps/whatever. :)

  38. On Planners:This may be so wrong of me to do, but the company I work for sells graphic image day planners - super pricey, but so gorgeous. I just photographed them for work a few weeks ago, and I love the python leather ones. UGH. I NEEEEED ONE. But they are super fancy - so it may not be what you're looking for.

Seriously though --- if you do happen to be interested, I may be able to swing something in your favor, so just let me know. ;)

On Hospitality: there's a great book I read on homemaking but the author totally banishes society's perspective on it and turns it into this really powerful way of using simple tasks for God's glory. Hospitality reminded me of that book; I can look for it and send over the title if you're interested. :)

  39. I love that we both have birthdays around Christmastime--it makes birthday and Christmas wishlisting that much more fun! :)

And I still need to check out Meg's link! It sounds great and if she likes it (and you do, too!) then it must be good!

    ReplyDelete
  40. Love that you're changing it up this year! I've never been too much of a stickler or too into celebrating early, but I feel it as well this year. I'm super excited for a break from work and a chance to just enjoy the holidays and holiday spirit. :)

    ReplyDelete
  41. Sweets on cool fall days with PJs on(!) makes for the best blogging time ever. I'm thinking I need to do that again this weekend!

    ReplyDelete
  42. Ooh, I can't wait to check it out! I looove area for list-making (that's how I normally get things done!) and I also love that it has space for monthly views, too. It sounds PERFECT! Thanks, friend!

    ReplyDelete
  43. Oooh, those planners are gorgeous! They are kind of out of my price range, though. :) I'm going to do a little more looking around (I got a few other recommendations, actually!) but I'll let you know if I end up looking more seriously at the ones your got to photograph and that your company sells! :)

And I'd love to hear more about that book! It sounds like a really good read and a lot like the current She Reads Truth plan!

    ReplyDelete
  44. I agree...we are. :)

They're the black and white striped ones with the gold spiral ring binding. It's an every day planner instead of a weekly one. I can't wait to use it!

  45. You should totally check out Erin Condren's planners. They are so cute. I am getting one for Christmas!! :)

    ReplyDelete
  46. I've actually heard of Erin Condren planners and there are definitely a lot of supporters out there. I'll definitely look into them (they are super cute, that's for sure!). :) Thanks for the suggestion!
