BLOG GOALS FOR 2015.

2015 is quickly approaching and with a new year, comes new ideas for this old blog of mine. I think it's a really good idea--no matter the size of your blog or the frequency of your posts--to really evaluate your content and just try to tweak things here and there. So here are a few changes I've got in store for ya!

NEW POST SERIES.
Each year my goal is to introduce a new post series. It's a lofty goal, but something I want to do to challenge myself to think outside the box. I love new post series that not only encourage creativity in myself, but conversation and community with you. I'm actually really excited about this new post series and already have a few drafted and ready to post in January/February!

I also hope to introduce a new photo project that I've seen around the blog world, one that will get me in front of the camera. I'll be honest and tell you that I'm a little scared to start it but I think it'll be a good change of pace for this girl over here.

CONTINUED PROJECTS, BUT REVISED.
I still want to continue my Project 365, Project Bookshelf, and Blog Talk series but I want to revise them a little. I'm thinking that I won't continue a Project 365 even though the indecisive girl in my wants to.

I will, however, continue Project Bookshelf but will only purchase books if I feel I really want them (as opposed to just buying one book per month).

Blog Talk will definitely still be around. It was one of my faves and I cannot wait to see what I'll come up with in 2015!

AND A FAREWELL (AT LEAST TEMPORARILY).
For those of you with amazing memories, I'm unsure if Everyday Moments will come back. I loved that series but I don't really feel like I have a lot of moments that are different than the ones I've already shared--but who knows? Maybe 2015 has great things in store (at least I hope so!).

So what are YOUR goals for your blog this upcoming new year? Are there post series you want to start or phase out? Are there opportunities that you want to try or seek out? I'd love to hear them!

  1. hello, since I've just started blogging my goal is to continue to blogging as much as I can! I have similar interest about the camera although I want to grow in video as in learning, creating, editing and posting. what camera are you using?

    Happy blogging!

  3. You have some wonderful blog goals here!

I started a new series in September; called Body, Mind, and Soul {and everything else}; it's basically a glimpse of what's going on for me in all areas of my life. I've currently running a reader's survey and will see if I stick with it into the New Year.

My big goal for this year is to write consistently about my blog's 3 main focuses: parenting, homeschooling, and faith... with at least 1 monthly post about blogging tips.

    Thanks for sharing.
    xoxo

  4. I love these goals Kiki!!! I am starting a couple of new series as well (Thank you for the inspiration on one of them). But my main goal is to BLOG. I started it this year as a way to almost vent due to the separation from my hubby but now honestly love it!! So even when he and I are finally reunited (and it feels so good) I am still going to blog, God still has a ton to teach me and I still want to share it with the world.
    Keep up the great work!!

  6. That's a great goal! Blogging and continued blogging is always a goal of mine, too! :) And I would looove to learn more about growing in video! My camera ( Canon 60D) does video and I've always wanted to dabble in that. You'll have to let me know what you learn!

  8. Thanks, Jennifer! I love that new series! It sounds terrific and I love how it really encompasses every part of your life--I love series where I can learn more about the blogger behind the blog!

And I also can relate to blogging more consistently on your blog's main focuses, that's something I try to work on with each post!

    Happy New Year!

  13. Ooh, how exciting! I always feel afraid to announce new projects because I hate the idea of not following through, too. So what does that say about US? :) :) But in my experience, sometimes announcing it really gets me to stay accountable. I'd love to hear more about your project!

  14. I don't have goals for 2015, but my blogging goals for January include writing out three months of topics in my editorial calendar! I think it will help me focusing on the big(ger) picture, instead of just looking at a month at a time.

  15. Wow, that's awesome! I'm always inspired by bloggers who use editorial calendars. I got a different planner this year so I could use it for both work and blogging but we'll see how long that lasts--even though I like organization, I can never get into using planners/calendars! :)

  16. First, I'm loving you new blog button. You are so creative. I'm adding that to my blog now. Second, I'm loving the new layout! Third, I'm loving all of your blog goals and can't wait for the new series. And I have been loving the Blog Talk series as well.

Here are some of my blogging goals: Continue and really kick-start my #Snapshots series. Create and maintain a FB Blog Page -- promote my blog a little more. Be more intentional in the blogging community. Take my time to really write, maybe do some guest posts and have more guest writers on my blog.

I think this blogging year, and this year in general, is going to be a really fun and exciting one for all of us!

  17. Aw, thanks! You know how much I love playing around with blog layouts/design, haha! :)

And I love your goals! I honestly do not have the energy to maintain a FB page for my blog--let alone create one! :) And I also love what you said about being more intentional in the blogging community. That's something I hope to do more of, too!

I also realllly agree with you, this year is going to be so much fun--for all of us! I cannot wait to see what unfolds!

  20. new posts series! YAY! so pumped for these girl! SO PUMPED.
and are you doing a self-portrait challenge?! <3 those hahaha.
i think revising project bookshelf is a great idea...buying things that you really want to read!
I LOVED everyday moments, but i also know that it can be challenging and repetitive. - you could totally do a "special moments" or "adventurous moments" for those special things you do (events/adventures/parties/etc)

  21. I'm pumped about the new series, too! I've been wanting to introduce new content and I'm excited to see where it takes me.

And um...quite possibly? I really want to do a self-portrait series but I'm sooo scared. But I guess that is probably the point? We'll see how it goes!

I also really love your suggestion for the Everyday Moments series. I really loved it but I found that there weren't as many everyday moments that were different from the ones I already shared. So I love the idea of doing an adventurous or special moments! :)
