DREAMING about Spring Break! I have some work that I need to get done (for well, work) but I am hoping to take a few days to enjoy and relax.

PLANNING a fun project with some dear blog friends. And there is so much excitement about this project-of-sorts!

MAKING a list of springy outfit pieces I'd love to own. There's something about Spring that warrants florals, pink, and dresses and skirts. Oh, and scarves, too. You know how much I love scarves!

BAKING brown butter rice krispy treats. I spotted them in this cookbook (that I borrowed from the library) and was so intrigued by the slight alteration to a classic childhood treat.

LOOKING FOR the best shade of pink nail polish for Spring. Any suggestions?

WATCHING (and laughing at) this Youtube video. One of my favorite series to watch ever.

LEARNING the ukulele! I bought one on a whim a few weekends ago and have been strumming ever since. I've always wanted to play either the guitar or ukulele (because playing the viola and singing is not gonna happen) so I could play and sing with the kiddos I teach. When I was talking with my sister, she convinced me that now's the time. So here's to a new musical challenge! Any other ukulele-playing bloggers out there?

LINKING UP WITH Jenna and Anne!

What are YOU up to currently? Do you have plans for Spring Break?

  1. I have always wanted to learn to play the ukulele. It's one of my favorite instruments. Is it very difficult to learn?

    I’m Kayla from a paper
arrow. I am a fairly new blogger and was nominated for a “Liebster Award.”
I completed my post and have nominated you for the same award! If you’re unsure
what a Liebster award is, I’ve explained it in my post here:
Please feel free to stop by my blog and accept the “award.”

Thanks so much and have a wonderful day!

  2. The ukulele looks like a lot of fun. We are going to Canada for spring break.

  3. Rice Krispy treats in any form are my fave! I found a peanut butter recipe the other day. YUM!

  4. How cool that you're learning to play the ukulele!! Also, can't wait to hear more about the blog project. Wishing for all the spring things over here too :)

  5. I still love that you are learning the ukelele!

What age group do you teach?

AND those rice krispy treats look really good! I'll have to make some when I get back to the US! YUM!

  6. I would definitely recommend checking out Victoria Vox for some ukulele inspiration! (:

  7. I am soooo excited that you're learning the ukelele! You're going to have to post some videos. :) I'm definitely dreaming of the beach right now, too! We are planning on taking a short weekend trip during spring break. It's going to be so relaxing. Ours isn't until around Easter. When is yours?

  8. Ukulele - how fun! I bet the kiddos will love it, and how great to have another type of creative outlet. And I know exactly what you mean about spring wardrobes - it just calls for a fresh start with some happy things. And bare ankles :)

  9. eeep!
so excited to hear about this new project!
i'm kind of obsessed with floral prints right now - now that i think i could pull them off...but you know, i want to! haha
you're welcome to come bake for me any time friend, ANY TIME
snap snap! the Ukulele! that is fantastic! i can't wait to see some videos (yes, you need to haha)

  10. Not very difficult at all! If you've never played an instrument before, it could be tricky, just because music is involved, but if there are tons of Youtube/online tutorials and videos to help you out. I've always learned music best by ear, so I love learning chords by playing covers to songs, which totally helps and makes it more fun in my opinion, too! You should totally try it! :)

And congrats on the Liebster award! Those posts are so much fun!

  11. It really is--and I sound like a total dork blogging about it all the time, haha. :) And what a fun trip! Have you been to Canada before?

  12. Aren't they yummy? I'm always a fan of them, too! :)

  13. Those sound like my Spring Break plans! I'm going to be doing the same things--except I'll be hanging out with my sisters. :) Have a great break!

  14. Cool and a little weird, too. It's always been a dream of mine but I never really envisioned myself ever doing it, you know? But I love that I've ended up learning and am excited to learn more. :)

I hope Spring comes your way soon, too!

  15. I teach preschool! I work in a preschool that serves 3-5 year olds (mixed classrooms). You teach four year olds right now, right? How's it going?

And they are tasty (the rice krispies, that is). :) You should totally try them out when you get back to the US!

  16. Ooh, I've never heard of her before! Is she on Youtube or something?

  17. Oh goodness, my ukulele playing would have to include some singing, haha (otherwise it'd just be a bunch of random chords--which I guess I could do, too!). :) We'll see if it'll ever make an online appearance!

My Spring break is at the end of this month! I'm probably going to work some of the days, but I'm looking forward to the chance to just kick back and relax. Yours sounds like fun!!

  18. The kids have yet to hear it, buuuut we'll see how they like it. I'm excited to try it out! :)

Bare ankles, yes!! I'm so excited to roll up my jeans and wear cuter flats and sandals!

  19. I'm excited to announce it! It's definitely still in the works, but I'm hoping it'll all come together sooner than later. :)

And florals are sooo pretty! I don't do anything huge or bright (or that draws too much attention to me, haha) but you could TOTALLY rock them.

And um, we'll see about those videos. I'm still learning songs and am not sure I'll sing with it (which sounds better since you're playing chords and not the actual notes, if that makes sense) but we'll see! :)

  20. Yes! Even just a Google search will pull up her website where she has music too. She's pretty fun!

  21. Cool, thanks for letting me know! :) I'll be sure to check it out!

  22. 3-5 years is a fun, exciting, tiring and worth it age group =)

I am not teaching yet because we are on summer break. School starts back here in June. I actually don't have a teaching degree and have never taught using curriculum so this will be very new to me.

  23. Fun, exciting, tiring, and worth it. Yep, you pretty much defined my job to a T! :)

And that is so exciting! I think (okay, I KNOW) you're going to have lots of fun and I can't wait to hear more about it!

  24. I definitely plan to try it out sometime in the future. It's something I've wanted to try for a very long time.

  25. Awesome! When you do, let me know! :)

  26. No, you don't. I'm from there so it will good to go back home for a visit.
