Just like each month, February came and flew by. February was full of sunny days, running around and playing tag and hide-and-seek with preschoolers, strumming and singing Jason Mraz's "I'm Yours" on the ukulele, and getting loved on by family, co-workers, and friends on Valentine's Day. It was a short, but very full and fun month.

How was YOUR February?

  1. February came and flew for me too! Can't believe how fast time flies...

Would you ever consider posting a video of you playing the ukulele? I bought one 2 years ago, been wanting to learn how to play it but i don't have the confidence in me... an injury from childhood made my fingers on my left hand weak hence it's hard to hold the chords...Maybe I will try again someday...

  3. I'm glad you had a good short but full month! Your Valentine's Day sounds like a really neat one. I'm glad you had a good holiday celebrating.

You are already playing and singing with your ukelele? That's pretty epic.

  4. I love all these little things that you take notice of! Like, the beam of light on the wall across the light switch - love that one!

  5. What beautiful photos! I like the last one especially, the detail is lovely.

I'm a newer follower, by the way. I found your blog via Taking Steps Home. :)

  7. Love this photo summary idea of the month's happenings! February was a lot of studying, and more studying for me so my photos would just be textbooks + me passed out with my head on my desk.

  8. Me, too! It never ceases to amaze me just how fast time flies these days. I want to soak it allll in! :)

And I think once I'm a little more confident with it, I will! I still know just a few basic chords, but I think what helps is that I have a little music background (and former calluses on my fingers from playing!). I also think that the ukulele helps, too. We have an older (cheaper) one that was a gift from a family member and the strings are SO far away from the frets and it makes it SO hard to play and press them down. My new one, on the other hand, costs more but is wayyyy easier on my fingers to play with. Maybe that would help? Have you played recently? And do you have any songs to recommend learning?

  9. My thoughts exactly! The sunny weather is actually a little weird, for me, though! Just last year around this time it was snowing like crazy. :)

  10. It was a good short but full month! And it's crazy to think that it's already March!

And girl, my ukulele playing is not epic AT ALL. Fortunately, I'm Yours has like four or five easy chords and all I have to do is strum it in a pattern while I sing (or try to sing, if I'm being honest). I definitely have a looooot left to learn! :)

  13. Nice to meet you, Candice! Amy is a gem so I know that anyone that comes my way through that girl has got to be just as awesome.

And thank you! I loooove taking photos so it means a lot to get feedback on my work! I'm allllll about capturing details (if you couldn't tell by now, haha). :)

  15. What are you studying, if you don't mind me asking? I hope it's all going well and that you're getting some time to relax, too! :)

  16. Sunlight gets me EVERY time. I actually am kinda obsessed with it. :) The little things are really what get me, though. For some reason, I'm just super passionate about it--in a very odd way, haha.

  17. Valentine's Day balloon twins! I actually still have mine, haha. :)

And that print is by Katygirl Designs on Etsy. A personal fave in the Instagram and Etsy world!

Warm weather sounds so good right now. We've had some 50 degree weather and it's pretty much like springtime for me right now!

  21. I'm pretty sure I'm Yours and Somewhere Over the Rainbow are the best ones to start out on! I haven't played much of the latter of the two, but it seems like they're both classics when it comes to ukulele music. :) Thanks for sharing the Youtuber, too! I've been looking for more good ones lately!

  22. Wow, that's awesome! And A LOT of work, I bet. How much longer do you have left?

  23. You should, you should! And hope for Spring is definitely good for me, although it can make the little ones I teach a little wigglier, haha. :)

  24. YES INDEED. I have to remind myself of that truth constantly. :)
