IN CASE YOU DIDN'T KNOW ALREADY...

0324
1. I am a lefty.

2. I have a sensitive sense of smell and cannot stand the smell of perfumes and other strong scents.

3. Half of my closet is comprised of grey and white shirts/tops. Neutrals are my fave.

4. My most frequently craved foods are cold cereal and fresh fruit. And sometimes they're eaten together!

5. Speaking of food, my OCD self also freaks out when food on my plate touches other food on my plate (and don't get me started on sauce that goes everywhere!) #plateswithdividersforlife

6. I do not have a green thumb.

7. Math was my worst subject in elementary/middle/high school but one of my favorite courses in college.

8. I like the names Maya, Ruby, Cara, Annie, Finn, Henry, Elliott, and Callen.

9. I am nearsighted and have worn glasses since I was a senior in high school.

10. As a kid, I collected rocks like nobody's business--and it all came from my grandpa and dad's interest in rocks.

So what are your quirks? I always love reading these kinds of posts and learning more about the blogger and cannot wait to hear something unique about you!

  2. Love this especially number 2. I killed a cactus . . . I don't mind my food touching. I'm a righty. My closet does have a lot of black but I've added a lot more colour to it.

  3. Oh man, I don't have a green thumb either. A coworker gave me a succulent and it's dying...aren't those like, impossible to kill? I love the names you picked too! Especially Maya...such a pretty name!
Also, did you make #5 say #20 intentionally? Just curious...wondering if you maybe aren't a fan of the #5.

  4. I am the same way when it comes to perfume and things with strong fragrances. In the past I kept trying to find a perfume that I would like because the bottles are so pretty and everyone it seems has their own fragrance - but when they all pretty much give me a headache and/or make me feel nauseated, it's not reason enough!! Also, I've been trying to grow plants out here in the desert and none of them ever survive. I try to blame the fact that the sun is ridiculously strong out here and that the air is dry, but really it's because - like you - I do not have a green thumb! Haha.

  5. So...do you turn the plate when you get done eating one thing... then move on to the other? Bc I have been called out for doing that before.

  6. Such a fun post! I think one of the quirkiest things about me is the weird ways I eat certain things... like Twix bars, Kit Kats, Girl Scout Cookies, macaroni and cheese, popcorn... I have a really strange (unique) way of eating all these things. I get made fun of a lot haha!

  7. I've killed more succulents than I can remember, haha. :) But the ones I have currently are alive and well so I'm hoping that maybe experience/time is on my side this time around. :)

  8. Apparently not impossible for us? I've only really had succulents and they've almost all died! :)

And I definitely did NOT intentionally make #5 as #20! I actually made another list and copy/pasted this one in last minute. I thought I had switched it and changed it, but apparently it didn't work. Thanks for catching that for me!

  9. I actually don't and never thought about doing that until now! I do tend to eat most of my veggies first, but I won't rotate my plate unless it's super saucy or something (how's that for detail, haha). :)

So do you not like your food touching either?

  10. So glad we have a few things in common! I, too, have always thought that I needed my own fragrance. But, it gives me headaches and just drives me nuts! I do have a coconut lotion that I use, but it's not too strong (at least for me!). :)

And I wish I had a green thumb! It's quite terrible because my mom and grandparents are garden-y people and they all have green thumbs. Me? Not so much!

  11. I have a friend who's the same way! :) But I think that's a cool thing--mannerisms make us unique!

  12. Glad I'm not the only one then!
And I totally didn't mean to be all "I caught your mistake" there...I really did think you had some reason for changing the number!! :)

    ReplyDelete
  13. Oh no, that's not how I interpreted it at all! I know people who skip over numbers and such (but the organized/OCD person in me couldn't do that!). I'm just glad you caught that mistake! :)

  14. I was just thinking about writing a post like this earlier today!!!! I didn't get very far with the mental list I was building in my head...Maybe I should try a little harder!

    I loved reading your list...Did I know you were a lefty?!?!? I really don't think I did!

Cold cereal is one of my weaknesses!

Names are so much fun! I'm weird and keep my favorites to myself, but let's just say they're pretty much all "classics".

I was alll about collecting rocks when I was a kid. We're talking, stop in the middle of the parking lot to get the ONE (that my Mom SWORE was like every single other rock she'd ever seen) that I needed. I probably still have stashes of them at my Grandma's house!

  15. Yeah lefties! And divided plates!!! We have so much in common :)

  16. Well it depends on what food it is.... like sometimes I mix weird concoctions of stuff... like I put corn on top of rice... something about the sweet corn on top. But no, most of the time I want it separate.

  17. I've worn glasses/contacts since 4th grade! My eyes are terrible. -5.5! Ugh. I daily worry about going blind. And I'm a lefty too! But I don't get people who don't like their food touching. My Thanksgiving plate is a dumping ground for everything. I love when it's all mixed together! Even the cranberry sauce and the sweet potatoes ;)

  18. Dude, I already killed a succulent! I thought they could survive in the dessert with no water! OMG.

    ReplyDelete
  19. I guess not! Maybe that's something that good plant owners SAY to bad plant owners just to make us feel worse.

  20. I'd love to read your list! I'm behind on blog reading but am crossing my fingers your post is up so I can read it! :)

And I used to keep names to myself, but now I really don't care. But if/when I actually have kids, I likely won't share their name(s) until they're born or adopted!

I used to be the same with rocks! I collected most of mine while hiking or at the beach, though. It definitely slowed our walks down! :)

  21. YESSSS. I had no idea you're a fellow lefty AND like to have divided plates. My co-worker bought me a tupperware version of a divided plate for bringing my lunch to work and it's the best. :)

  22. How did I not know you're a lefty, too? I'm thinking the cool bloggers are lefties, right? :)

Aaaaaaahhhhhhhhh, just THINKING about your Thanksgiving plate makes me shudder, haha. :) It doesn't bother me if it's on someone else's plate, but I don't think I could ever mix all my stuff together (which my sisters both do to some extent). :)

  23. I haven't put my together yet, but I am planning on it! Remind me if I forget! :)

  24. haha i'm definitely not a green thumb (so far the only plant I've kept alive is a cactus - kid you not).

    ReplyDelete
  25. Will do! And only because I can't wait to read it! :)

    ReplyDelete
  26. I've killed succulents, which are supposed to be the easiest to kill, haha. I'll have to try a cactus! :)

  27. Cereal and blueberries are my fave! Occasionally, I'll eat cereal with strawberries or raspberries, but blueberries are the best with cereal. And oddly enough, I love to eat my cereal with frozen blueberries. :)

And I have heard of Jim Elliot! I don't know much about him, but he was a missionary, right? That is so cool that your nephew was named after him!

  28. i didn't know you were a lefty!
so do you use essential oils in place of perfume? i know katie from hope engaged made the switch.
ummm i wish i craved fruit - because i crave carbs on carbs on carbs.
    Finn...love that name.
    ...so much fun!

    ReplyDelete
  29. I actually don't use essential oils instead of perfume. I never would have thought of that, but I LOVE it. I don't usually wear much aside from a coconut body lotion, which adds just a little scent and sweetness (which was wayyyy weird to type out, haha). :)

And girl, I don't just crave fruit, I crave carbs, too. It's baddddd.

  30. this may be weird, but I've always wanted to be left handed and thought left handed people are extra cool!! I love cold cereal!! What is your favorite kind?

    ReplyDelete
  31. How funny is that? I didn't like being a lefty growing up, but I love it now. And cold cereal is THE best. I love cinnamon Oatmeal Squares, but also love granola, Cheerio's Medley (at least I think that's what it's called?), too. What about you?
