ROOM INSPIRATION.

roominspiration2
I've been wanting to re-vamp my room for--ahem--years. Yep, you read that right. Years. I've gone back and forth about wall colors and patterns and such and haven't really found a duvet cover that is to die for (well, except this one, but it's no longer sold).

But I recently realized that instead of trying to start from scratch, I should really look to my own personal style (and closet) and go from there. Because, when it comes down to it, what I wear and buy reflects who I am.

So since I'm obsessed with light neutrals, grey (which is in a category in and of itself in my opinion!), florals, and stripes. Well, and a little gold, too.

I may not actually get a chance to make these changes right away (hello, Anthro prices!), but these are the things that I'll be looking for and trying to add more into my room.

Are you into interior design? Have you re-vamped your room/house lately? Who/what inspires you and how would you describe your style?

p.s. This is kind of what my room looks like now. There have been a few changes, but most of it is the same!

  1. The duvet and shirt are gorgeous! Too bad anything not in Anthro's sale section is a little (way) out of my "college student" price range. Great round up though! I haven't really taken the time to curate my interior spaces, mostly because it's been the dorms for the past three years, and I don't see the point in investing in nice stuff. But after I graduate it's going to be so much fun!

  2. I really really like the look you're bringing together here!!! It's PERFECT! I do hope you'll be able to get some changes made soon. :)

As for me - I just like what I like and haven't really found a name for my style. Although...I discovered Nate Berkus's stuff at Target and if he designed it, I LOVE it. For my home I tend to like dark wood, COLOR on the walls, light carpet, gold accent pieces, and pieces that offer texture (chunky baskets, throw blankets, a chair with unique upholstery, etc.).

  3. What a lovely palette! This will translate into such a great space - the neutrals and patterns would make such a pretty and relaxing bedroom. Maybe I'll need you to make me some moodboards if you're going to do such inspiring stuff... because I have a TON of rooms to do now that we just bought a new house, eeek.

I am with you on the grey :) It's just the best!

We are moving soon! Crazy I know! And I am totally excited about a new place, redecorating, and cultivating more of my style in our new space!
I am thinking of making a little mood board like you did!

  6. Grey really is the best! :)

And I am so excited to hear more about your move (and I cannot wait to get caught up on your blog, too!). Congrats, my friend! I also cannot wait to see how you decorate your new house, too.

So glad to see you back!

  7. Neutrals and patterns are my thing. And it's funny you mentioned it, because it's something that I never would have imagined would be the case. :)

I haven't really made too many moodboards before but I've had so much fun with this one. I can't wait to see what you come up with for your new house! That's so exciting!

  8. I hope I'll be able to FINALLY make some changes, too. Hopefully this summer will be the time!

And Nate Berkus + Target is the best. So many good pieces at Target to begin with, but Nate definitely has a great taste in style/design! :)

  9. Oh goodness, Anthro's out of my range sale or not. If only the items were just a little bit cheaper (it's out of range for teachers, too!). :)

  10. It really is! I never realized that my personal style would translate into my taste in interior design. But it's so true and I'm glad to have finally connected the two! :)

  11. I've found some really good deals in the sale section (like dresses marked down to $20 or lower). That, of course, is the only time I can buy anything there. Haha!

  15. GIRL. girl. We might be the same person! ;)
I absolutely lovvvvve this mood board of sorts. It's absolutely perfection and I love the color scheme and the touch of florals. I think I'm going to figure out how to bring more florals into our master bedroom without Lamar noticing. Hehe.

  16. There's a reason my best friend started a group Pinterest board for the two of us to plan out my new townhouse. Dan and I move in this weekend! My best friend and I have been pinning ideas for my home office and the living room for a month now. :) Not surprisingly, I want some colors similar to my blog... They're colors I love, that work well together!

  18. Haha, I think we ARE the same person! :) I fall more and more in love with florals every time I visit your blog (especially in your Pinspiring posts!).

And you'll have to do a room post if/when that happens! Hopefully he doesn't notice--OR maybe he'll fall in love with it, too!

  21. I hope you do too! I know it takes time. :) No pressure!

What makes Target and Berkus even better are the BARGAIN prices that they offer! :)
