CURRENTLY | APRIL.

EXPLORING new trails to run on! I hate getting up and going outside, but once I'm out there, I love letting my feet hit the path (even if it's slow) and finding new paths and roads to run on is my jam.

WISHLISTING one of these backpacks. Wouldn't they be perfect for a summer adventure, roadtrip, or hike?

WEARING a new layer of lovely pink nail polish for what I hope is the start of sandal weather. Let's hope I can actually wear sandals (instead of rain boots!).

SIPPING on green smoothies. It's definitely my breakfast of choice and it's the perfect combination of sweet and healthy to wake me up each morning.

WRITING blog posts like crazy. I tend to write my blog posts in bulk (please say I'm not the only one) and so I've been "stocking up" on posts for the rest of this month so I can breathe a little easier. But other than that, I'm also hoping to send of some more snail mail and write a little fiction, too!

LINKING UP WITH the always lovely Anne and Jenna. These ladies rock, won't you agree?

  1. What a gorgeous photo! I'm so excited for some blooms around here soon. And you're inspiring me to get a batch of blog posts done (I usually do them that way too - and get a little anxious when I don't have a big stock built up) so that this weekend I can go find some new trails to run on :)

  2. I agree with you about finding new trails. I work on a college campus in a pretty rural area, so I like to take my lunch break and literally find new trails I've never seen before. And I may just walk, but I always feel so great afterwards!

  6. Green smoothies are really good! I used to make a banana, pineapple and spinach smoothie when I lived in Korea a lot!

I love your pretty flower picture. It's the perfect 'spring' photo.

  11. Ooh, how fun! I loved exploring and walking around my campus in between classes when I was going to school. It was so much fun and such a great way to get fresh air and a study break!

  12. I'm the same way!!! Most people I know just write for the week, but I LOVE having a batch of posts written up and scheduled. It makes my brain relax, haha. :)

  13. It really is! I looooove the feeling of having a month's worth of posts scheduled. It always feels so good. :)

  14. Life happens! I say give yourself grace and hop back onto the blog train when you feel ready--but yes, that feeling of having posts scheduled? SOOOO good. :)

  15. It's effective and it makes my brain relax a little more, too! It really is the best way to get blogging done, in my opinion!

  16. Green smoothies are the best. I love spinach, banana, coconut milk, and strawberry ones but the pineapple one sounds yummy, too. I'll have to give that one a go! :)

  17. Me, too! I'm so ready for some sunny weather. But over here, it really is April showers that bring May flowers. It's been rainy! :)

And those backpacks are so cute and they're for a great cause, too. They're on my wishlist, that's for sure!

  19. Smoothies + blog-writing is the best combination ever! :)

  20. Well, if we're playing the "jealousy game" I'm totes jealous of your ability to do that hand/headstand that you instagrammed. You get it girl! :)

And aren't those backpacks amazing? I saw them on TV and immediately added it to my wishlist.

Also, don't be jealous at all. I have tons of posts I want to write, but have no inspiration to sit down to write them, haha. :)

  21. yay for finding new trails!! I love smoothies! They are my usual go to breakfast item!! I totally write blog posts in bulk, I've struggled with getting any in lately though... I feel like life has been non stop and when it is stop, I have no idea what to even say.... so I haven't posted much :/

  22. My feet aren't yet ready for spring! I need to get on the polish ASAP :) I love the idea of "stocking up" on blog posts so that you're always prepared. I can only manage to stay about a week ahead, but I'd love to be able to get further ahead than that!

  23. I love writing posts ahead of time! It's such a relief. Lately, I've been really bad at it though since our weekends have been CRAZY. Hopefully this week (it's my spring break!) I'll be able to get ahead a little bit. :)

    ReplyDelete
  24. Agreed! There's something about getting a ton of posts done that just lets me breathe. I hope you enjoy your Spring Break AND get some posts written, too! :)

  25. I had to touch my toes up a bit this past weekend but haven't been able to actually wear sandals or anything because it's been too cold or too wet (or both!). :)

I tend to only blog in bulk by a few weeks but every so often I'll get an entire month's worth done and it's like a little victory dance inside my brain, haha. :)

  26. Same! Smoothies have been my breakfast for about a year now and they're THE best. I've been using the same recipe and haven't gotten tired of them yet. What's your fave smoothie recipe?

And I've missed seeing your blog posts! I totally understand where you're at and know that I'll be here, even if you're not posting (which I totally check all the time, haha). :)

  27. Your picture is beautiful at the top! And I love the idea of writing blog posts in bulk... but I can't say I've ever really gotten to that point, though I should. Especially when I work night shift and I can barely remember what year it is :p any green smoothie recipe recommendations??

  28. I love Taluma totes. Were they on Shark Tank? I've just learned about this show. I literally thought it was a show about people swimming with Sharks. I was like, "hasn't this been done already?!"

I love writing posts in bulk, but I can never keep up with the habit. I'm trying to get better about it though.

    ReplyDelete
  29. YESSS!!!! I'm so glad you recognized that one. I've been watching on and off for a few seasons now and only recently watched the one about Taluma Totes. I really want one of my own now!

And it's hard to write posts in bulk! I try to do it as well, but usually it ends up only being a total of 2-3 posts at a time.

  30. Thank you! It's just an Instagram photo--I was actually a little worried it wouldn't turn out well on my blog. :)

And I'm not that great at writing blog posts in bulk. I try to write at least 4-5 posts at once (most of which are already started, they just need photos and/or some editing/tweaking) so it'll get me about 2 week's worth of posts. But I often fail and have to scramble on the weekends, if I'm honest.

I can't imagine working night shifts! My sister does, but I can't imagine being all topsy-turvy when it comes to times and schedules. You're amazing! :)

As for green smoothies, I tend to make mine in batches as well and then freeze/de-frost them as needed. My go-to recipe is coconut milk, spinach, bananas, and strawberries (and some Greek yogurt if I have it), but I also love them with blueberries or other seasonal fruits, too. I've seen a lot of orange/pineapple/citrus ones but have yet to try those!

    ReplyDelete
  31. I'm scrambling a lot too so I love the idea of writing in batches. Night shifts aren't so bad I just get confused on what day it is and am tired a lot during the day :/ they have their perks though haha. Coconut milk! I haven't tried that in smoothies so I'm writing that down now and am going to try it! Thank you!!

    ReplyDelete
  32. My sister has definitely told me the perks of night shift--but I know for a fact that I still wouldn't be able to do it! :)

And coconut milk is so good in smoothies! I technically use the "coconut milk beverage" from Trader Joe's but I would think any coconut milk would taste good. You'll have to let me know if you like them!

    ReplyDelete
  33. I will definitely let you know! We already went grocery shopping for this month but next month it's on my list!
