DESIGNING moodboards for this month's The Circle! This is kind of Inception-esque with me talking about a link-up within a link-up, but this month's theme is all about moodboards, and what better design to blog about than this one?

EYEING kimonos. I'm definitely late to this party, but I've seen a lot of bloggers wearing them and they look so pretty! I love how the fabric lays and the floral prints get me every. single. time. Now tell me, are they out of style? Is it too late to join this bandwagon?

ENJOYING lunch breaks to the max. As much as I love the kids I teach, this introvert needs time to recharge (and needs time to run to the bathroom and sit in silence for a few moments!). And with the nicer weather, I've had a chance to walk outside, too. It's glorious and it makes me a MUCH happier person, too.

ORDERING some new running gear. You can never have too many pairs of athletic shorts to wear (every single day in the summer), right?

CELEBRATING Teacher Appreciation week! Surprise chocolates are the best way to love on my fellow teachers, right?

TASTING ice cream. As the sun comes out, so does my craving for ice cream. A spoonful of Talenti before bed is wayyy better than a cup of warm milk, in my opinion.

LINKING UP WITH Anne and Jenna. And there are no other bloggers I'd rather link up with, either!

  1. Sunshine and Ice Cream, a girl after my own heart ;) Talenti Chocolate Peanut Butter is my love language. Whew. Just so good. And I'm a School Counselor, just aching for Summer Break! When are you out of school?

  2. I love the idea of kimonos but i'm just so short that they end up looking ridiculous on me! I too am an introvert and could never imagine being a teacher. So kudos to you.

  3. I am loving kimonos too! haven't found one I love enough to buy but they sure are pretty on pinterest. And AMEN to the running shorts every single day in summer!

  4. Yay, new running gear! Totally justifiable to have lots of it in the hot summer months. And also yay, ice cream. I still need to try this Talenti stuff (pretty sure I'm guaranteed to like it). Thanks for linking up as always - you're so sweet!

  6. Love Talenti! I love the Salted Caramel flavor, it's so good! And coffee one is good too, but i know you don't like coffee.
I need to work on my mood board for the circle, i am excited to do it!
That kimono is cute! I think you should go for it!

  7. Hooray for teacher's appreciation week! I am the most well fed lady lately, I swear. My class knows the way to my heart, alright! <3

And no. No, you can never own too many pairs of althetic shorts. The kimono thing I am not too sure about, but let me know if you find out, because I was considering joining that bandwagon too. :P

  8. Ah, yes. The wonderfully, quiet bathroom breaks during the school day. I can completely relate to that one! :)

Also, the kimonos are sooo cute! Even if it's a little "late" to the bandwagon I say go for it! I'm never on top of trends, I just wear what I love and what makes me comfortable. :)

  9. Sunshine and ice cream make for the best pairing ever. I'm allergic to peanuts so I haven't had that Talenti flavor, but if it's anything like the other flavors I have/like of theirs, it's got to be good!

And what age of kiddos are you a counselor for? What an awesome job! And I'm out in mid-June! Are you almost done for the school year?

  10. I worry it'll look weird on me, too (I'm short as well!). But they look so pretty and I love how they're like a light cardigan. I just need to try one on and I guess I'll find out! :)

And it's funny that you mention my introversion. I love kids and I love my job but as an introvert, I NEED the alone time during my breaks to recharge (or to at least get a few moments of uninterrupted thinking!). So while it is draining for my introverted self, it's also rewarding!

  11. Kimonos just look soooo pretty, right? I didn't like them at first, but now they're slowly making their way to me "like" list in terms of clothes and fashion. But I think I'd really need to try one on to see what it looks on me before I buy one!

And running shorts in the summer is THE BESTTTTT. I can't imagine summers without them!

  12. Talenti is SO yummy! You have to try it and let me know what you think of it. :)

Thank you for hosting, too! I always look forward to joining in and seeing what prompts you and Jenna come up with!

  13. I'm not a huge fan of coffee (gasp, I know!) :) but that hazelnut chocolate chip one sounds delicious! We normally get the caramel apple pie flavor, but I like the mediterranean mint, too! :)

And maybe I will go for the kimono. I think I'd really have to try one on in a store first (which could be hard because I don't think they're as popular anymore!). But maybe I'll order one from a company with free returns? :) Either way, I guess I just need to find one for the right price!

  14. Happy Teacher Appreciation Week to you, Laura! I hope you're getting a chance to be spoiled, too! :)

  15. Talenti is sooooooooo good. :) And I actually haven't tried either flavor--the caramel one sounds yummy, though!

p.s. How are ya, friend? I was thinking of you the other day! Are you done with school?

  16. Happy Teacher's Appreciation Week, Kelly!!! You deserve to be treated and spoiled and I'm glad that's exactly what your class has done! :)

And athletic shorts are THE best. I'm still unsure about the kimono thing, but Pinterest always makes them look so pretty!

  17. Girl, we NEEEEED to Skype and exchange some teacher stories. Like stat. :)

And I'm never on top of trends, either. I've come to the conclusion that I'll just buy things that I like and that fit my body and are comfy, too! Comfort ALWAYS wins in my book!

  19. Im late to the kimono party as well. They look so pretty on other people, but i don't know if I can style them right..

  20. I feel the same exact way. I love how they look but worry that they'll eat me up and make me look weird, haha. :)

  21. Nice to meet you, Natalie! Thanks for stopping by! :) You'll definitely have to check out the link-up, Anne and Jenna are both awesome ladies and bloggers!

  22. Not gonna lie, I'm kind of stuck on this mood board thing... maybe I'm just not creative enough to really understand it? Haha

Happy Teacher's appreciation week to you! I hope that you've felt loved all week! I'm so glad you've been able to get out and walk on your lunch breaks- I can totally see that being such a mood lifter!

And to a fellow running shorts lover... I totally get your addiction, be careful :) haha

  23. I love a good floral kimono... I have yet to purchase one though!

  24. Same! I worry they won't look that great on my body type, but they look soooo pretty! :)

  25. You could do anything, Sarah! I think it would be fun if you did a moodboard on things to do after work or something to just de-stress and such. Or even a board about running or something! :)

And thank you! I did feel the love--there were some challenging moments but the kiddos are so much fun that it's easy to overlook those moments. Lunch breaks reallllly help with that, too!

Running shorts are so comfy! I didn't start wearing them until a couple years ago and now I wonder why I didn't do it sooner!
