  3. I JUST finished an article on not grumbling! How perfect to stop by here and find myelf challenged to also make a little happy list!!!

Your lists is great! What is your order at Mexican? Also...What are your top three Pandora stations right now?

    I'll make a list:

    breakfast picnics
    geocaching walks

  5. I like all sorts of things when it comes to Mexican food! I love tacos, but also love tamales and salads, too. Or just chips and salsa! :)

And I'm glad you read this post with good God-written timing. I love it when I come across posts that came at just the right time for me. It's times like that that I know that God's right there with me.

I also love your list! Cool summer evenings and chats with loved ones are the best. I need more of them now that I think about it!

  6. Is that a type of succulent??! I love it! I'm all about some indoor plants right now since living in an apartment again. I want to add to my small collection. Amazon deliveries for the win. I wish I had more of those. ha. Mexican food. Every. Day. Morning light = yes! Our apartment can be flooded with light and when it hits the hardwood floors, so lovely! Summer berries, oh yeah. Strawberries are my thing right now. Good hair days. For sure. I'm working on having more of those! :)

Another thing that would make my list? Naps after work. And runs after work. Some days I have a nap, some days I go for the run. ha!

  7. You know, I'm not sure if it is or not! I think it may be a type of succulent, but it also takes more watering than most succulents do (but it could be because it was kind of dried out when I got it). But I'm with you, I'm all about indoor plants right now! I have three right now but hope to add a few more to my shelf soon. :)

And so jealous of your morning light and hardwood floors! If I could choose, I'd take out all the carpet (if only!) and put in hardwood floors because they're WAYYYYY prettier. It's all about appearances for me, haha.

And naps and after-work naps sound delightful! I love working out to decompress after working (and just in general--for the most part!) and I even took a short nap this afternoon. I hope you get a chance to do both soon!

  8. Oohh...The Japanese Jelly Beans also remind me...Do you happen to know what Japanese Mayonnaise is? I saw it on an episode of Chopped and I have no idea what it is!

  9. Are you talking about Kewpie mayonnaise? I'm not a huge fan of mayonnaise, but I think it tastes pretty similar to normal mayonnaise, it just has a few different ingredients! :)

p.s. I have been watching a lot of Chopped lately and am getting a little hooked!

  10. japanese jelly beans!! interesting
sticky note lists are some of my favorites
    and i love morning light.

  11. They are! The Japanese jelly beans have a little bit of a different texture--not as sticky and chewy as the American ones. And the flavors are fun and Japanese-y, too! :)

  12. They didn't say what it was called other than "Japanese Mayo"...I'm not sure!

Have you really?!?! We just watched the "Family Feud" episode of it with our lunch today! I think my brother and sister like it even more than I do (which is A LOT)! You've got to check out Cut Throat Kitchen too if you haven't already.

  13. Ooh, I've never heard of the Family Feud episode. I normally am not a huge fan of The Food Network, but they've got some fascinating shows and it's nice to watch as background noise when I'm working on stuff or need something to watch in a pinch. I've watched a little bit of Cut Throat Kitchen, too! And I've also been lightly following the Next Food Network Star as well as Guy's Grocery Games (not a huge fan of Guy's food, but I like the concept of that show). Do you have any other Food Network show faves?

  14. I'm watching an old season of Food Network Star (I think it's season 9) and it's been entertaining! I'm not a big fan of the way some of the contestants are acting, but I guess it's a good reminder that there are alllll kinds of people in show business.

I've never heard of Guy's Grocery Games! I used to LOVE Supermarket Sweep when it was on TV. Did you ever watch that one? Is it similar to that at all?

Chopped, Good Eats, Cut Throat Kitchen, and now Food Network Star are about the only Food Network shows I'm aware of! I'm a sucker for game shows, so the fact that most of these combine cooking with that medium is what hooked me right from the start! :)

  15. Yeah, I'm always surprised by some people's behavior, even though I shouldn't! :) But like you said, it is a good reminder that there really are alllll different kinds of people in show business!

I think it's a lot like Supermarket Sweep (the show sounds familiar but I can't remember all about it). Basically, the contestants in this show have different cooking challenges in the "grocery store" and then they're eliminated on each meal course (a lot like Chopped). It's fun, because they have challenges like creating a dish using ingredients under 6lbs or having to run around with their shopping carts to find the ingredients, etc. It's fun to see what people come up with!

  16. Oh, that does sound neat! On Supermarket Sweep they didn't have to cook anything, just shop. The cooking element adds an even greater challenge!

  17. Exactly! I realized (by chatting with, actually!) that I really just love to see how creative the contestants get--I could never think up some of the things they come up with on a time limit (and with cameras filming me, too!).

    ReplyDelete
  18. I know exactly what you mean!!! On Chopped they're always saying, "I've always thought it looked so easy...And I'd never forget to put an ingredient on a plate...but now I'm here and that clock is just ticking and it's a lot of pressure." I'm positive I would feel the same way!

  19. Agreed!

p.s. This is just another thing to add to the list of Victoria/Kiki commonalities! :)

  20. You've got that right!!!! :)
