CURRENTLY | JUNE.

PLAYING tag and hide-and-seek with preschoolers. I sound crazy, but I actually really enjoy playing outside with the kiddos I teach and I love it when they tell me I'm fast (because I'm really not!).

EATING so many strawberries! My sister and I picked nine pounds of strawberries on Sunday and I feel like I might be turning pink now.

GOING to my little sister's high school graduation. They grow up way too fast, I tell ya.

WEARING shorts and dresses and sandals. It's summer weather around here--which is great for weekends but not so great when the AC doesn't reliably turn on in your classroom.

SIPPING blended bananas and coconut milk. I blend frozen bananas with Trader Joe's coconut milk beverage and it's beyond yummy.

READING YA fiction. There's something about summertime that screams YA fiction--easy reads full of cute storylines and romances. I just started this series and cannot wait to read the second book that just came out!

LINKING UP with Anne and Jenna once again. Love ya, ladies!

  1. Summer was meant for YA novels and strawberries!

  2. I always play hide and seek with my nieces/nephew. They love it! And don't read too much YA because all the books I get into come from my MIL. Whatever romance/drama she loves she brings over to me. I have about 10 waiting for some great summer days.. haha

  3. My sister is graduating this year too! Hers is next weekend. What. is. happening. I sound old, but I seriously remember the DAY SHE WAS BORN. Excuse me while I go cry now.

  4. Wow that's a lot of strawberries! How fun though, I've never been strawberry picking! We're supposed to get some summer-like weather soon but lately all we've been getting is rain. So much rain.

  5. Strawberry season - BEST time of year. I should send you my strawberry pie recipe :) I've been reading tons of YA fiction lately too. Just finished The Universe Versus Alex Woods - though not YA specifically, it would appeal to young adults. And it's excellent!

  6. My students LOVE it when they think they are faster than me. Sometimes I barely have to move when playing with them.

  7. Agreed! And it makes for a great combined activity, too! :)

  8. Hide and seek is a lot of fun, right? I actually LOVE outside time (aka recess duty) because it gives me a chance to be a kid again! :)

You'll have to let me know if you come across any good reads--I'm always on the lookout!

  9. Crazyyyyy, right??? I remember the day my sister was born and it's SO weird to think she's going off to college. How does time fly? :) Congrats to your sister!

  11. Agreed! I'm a huge berry fan, so any berry season is good for me! :) I remember hearing about your strawberry pie recipe but I can't believe I forgot about it this year! I froze a bunch so that may be just what I make this time around. :)

I've never heard of The Universe Versus Alex Woods, I'll have to see if my library has it. If you recommend it, it's got to be good!

  12. Strawberry picking is so much fun! I love berry picking and I love that actually picking the fruit makes it taste THAT much better. Hopefully you get more summery weather! We actually hit the 80's today which is CRAZY! :)

  14. Oh, fresh strawberries! Yes! I'm sooooo curious about that coconut milk strawberry combination that you made. I want to try it!

  15. They are!! Have you been picking this year?

  16. Fresh strawberries and coconut milk + frozen bananas are delicious. I freeze ripe bananas since I don't like them super ripe and use a few of those with some of Trader Joe's coconut milk beverage (which comes in a purple box) and then add in some other berries or what not. It's actually the base for my green smoothies (minus the spinach!) and it tastes just like a milkshake. It's delicious!

  17. Blended bananas and coconut milk sounds so simple and easy- I'm making my grocery run this afternoon and think I might try this! Also, I TOTALLY hear you on the YA fiction for summer! I need some names to start on- what series is it??

  18. It's super easy and suuuuper yummy. :) I actually am looking forward to making some this summer for snacks/breakfast!

And that series is Jenny Han's To All the Boys I've Ever Loved and the sequel is P.S. I Still Love You. Definitely about relationships and such, but it was a cute concept and I'm all about easy reads in the summer. Sorry I didn't link to it earlier! Blogger fail. :) Do you have an recommendations?
