SUMMER GOALS.

It's officially summer break for me and even though I want to slow things down a bit, I want to keep myself moving and growing. I want to be productive while also savoring each moment that I've got.

Because if there's one thing I've learned, it's that summer is wayyyy too short.

1. BUILD MY CLOSET. I have been trying to work my closet and have been slowly adding pieces that I feel like I can wear for years to come. I've slowly taken out pieces that I've had just to "fill" my closet space and am adding in pieces that I like. I'm not perfect, however, I still have pieces that I've bought on a whim and have since regretted it, but I feel like I'm slowly learning what works best for me.

2. PREP FOR THE FALL. I have a lot coming my way come September so I've slowly been trying to gear up for the fall and get ready for a new school year--with a new job! I cannot really get into many details yet, but it's a good change, friends. A really good one.

3. FIGURE OUT THE BLOG'S FUTURE. With a new job, comes a little bit different schedule. I'm hoping this summer will give me time to figure out how I'll fit my blog into my new work schedule and responsibilities.

4.  WRITE MORE. Write more letters, write more fiction, and write more posts. Just write, write, write.

5. TREAT MYSELF AND THOSE AROUND ME. I've been learning that part of self-care is not only caring for yourself but caring for those around me. So my goal for this summer is to treat my friends, my family, and myself with little things like dessert, surprise goodies, and the like. It's the little things, right?

6. FITBIT IT UP. My sister let me borrow her old FitBit earlier this month and since then I've been hooked. I was once a little skeptical of the whole personal fitness tracker craze (especially since they can be so spendy!) but I love the challenges and how it makes working out fun.

What are your goals for the summer?

  2. Please keep the Bits and Pieces feature. That is my favorite part of this blog. I mean, I enjoy all of it, but I especially like the Bits and Pieces.

  3. Ohhh! I'm excited to learn more about your new job! Also hoping it will be an easy transition for your blogging with the new job. That was something I had to figure out too and I still don't have it figured out! ha. I love my FitBit! Can we be friends on our FitBits?? I'll look into that. :)

P.S. Speaking of writing, be expecting an e-mail from me asking for your address again. That is one of my summer goals, to get back to writing my lovely friends around the States. :)

  8. Yay for a new job! I can't wait to hear more about it! Also, I'm totally with you on the fitbit craze... although my Mom consistently beats me and it sort of makes me feel bad about myself lol. I haven't come up with any summer goals yet and it's the middle of June... yikes :O

  12. I'm excited to tell you all about it--it just may come in the form of an email or snail mail letter. :) I need your new-ish address, too!

And my FitBit actually broke so I have to go and see if the warranty will work so I can either get it fixed or get it replaced but then we can definitely be friends!

  13. I can't wait to be able to share more about it! I have to wait a little longer until it's more official, but then I'll be able to share allllll about it, haha. :)

And my FitBit broke so I'm going to try and get it replaced/fixed. I'll be honest, I was totally skeptical of it all (especially since they can be pricey!) but it's a lot of fun and I miss being able to use mine!

  14. I hope I do, too! I was feeling a little overwhelmed just thinking about it, but I know that grace and flexibility will be key when the new job starts in the fall. I cannot imagine leaving blogland!!

  16. Thanks, Robyn! It's definitely a good change. There will be a learning curve as I learn to balance everything, but it will be fun and likely crazy, too!

I am totally hooked on the FitBit, too! I was skeptical at first because they can be pricey, but it's so much fun!
