EVERYDAY MOMENTS: SHOPPING WITH MY MAMA.

So, I don't actually call my mom, mama, but it honestly sounded cool when I typed the title into the box and it also seems like a blogger term, so it's going to stay.

But I digress.

When I was in middle school, leaving the house with my parents was the last thing I'd ever want to do. What if I saw someone I knew? What if they saw me with my mom? I honestly laugh just thinking about it, but I would have died of embarrassment if any of that ever actually happened as a teenager.

These past few years, I've lost a little bit of that self-consciousness and have really started to enjoy spending time with my family, including venturing out in the stores and shopping with my mom and family.

One of my more favorite things to do is go clothes shopping with my mom. Times have changed and we've gone from her helping to pick out my clothes, to me picking out clothes for her. We'll look through racks of clothes together and give each other a second opinion and nod of approval (or raise of an eyebrow if we disapprove).

We don't get to do it very often, but I love that we get to spend some time together and have fun. I recently learned that have the same exact personality type (ISFJ's unite!) and it's cool to think that we have lots of similar likes and dislikes, too, especially since I didn't always feel like that growing up (oh, those teenage years).

The older I get, the more I realize just how grateful I am and should be for my family. I'm blessed to be able to think of them as some of my best friends and to know that they're there for me. I enjoy spending time with them and I'd like to think they enjoy spending time with me, too.

So here's to the little moments in life and the things we should be savoring each and every day.

What's your favorite everyday moment?
