TIME AND WORK.

My favorite local store changed storefronts earlier this month and the other weekend, my mom, sister, and I took a little trip downtown to check it out.

For a year or so, this storefront was just an empty building. Before that, it was a music store--the same music store where I would buy music and try/rent violas growing up.

Stepping foot into the new store was like a breath of fresh air. I've been following along this store's move and renovation on IG and it's been fun to get sneak peeks and just watch them transform an old storefront into a beautiful space to shop. All the heart eye emojis couldn't capture the warmth, the light, the product displays and styling, the creativity, and the airiness and beauty in that store. And you'd better believe this girl savored every step inside.

I was chatting with one of the employees about the transformation and she mentioned that the now beautiful store took a lot of time and hard work.

And her words have stuck with me since.

Life takes time. Your life, your story, your timeline will not look the same as anyone else's--and that's completely okay. It's okay if things take longer than expected or longer than you'd hope. There's glory and growth in the process.

And life takes work. No one said this life would be easy. And if you're anything like me, you'll find that the toughest jobs, the toughest seasons are often the ones with the greatest outcomes in the long run. You may not see the beauty in that hard work, but just you wait until the change and renovation is complete.

Remember that God is the designer and contractor. He's got a vision, He's got blueprints and a plan. And He's so ready to help you start that hard work if you open up the doors and let Him in.

So here's to embracing the journey and remembering that He makes beauty from ashes.
