JANUARY IN PHOTOS.

Dear January,

I can remember how ready I was for you back in December of last year. 2019 was a tough one and by the end of it, I was just ready for a fresh start and a chance for new possibilities and adventures. And January, you did not disappoint.

I started off the month with a photo session with a friend from elementary school and having a full frame camera continues to make that photography itch even more--right now, I'm dreaming of investing in a photography workshop of some sort to just get more experience and to build my portfolio as well. I have a few more sessions to schedule in the future (February, let's have some sunshine!) and I'm excited to just keep shooting...photos, of course.

January ended with the worst cold to date. I actually took off three days of work and slept most of the days that I took off. It was strange not to be in the classroom, but it was just what my body needed.

January, thank you for forcing me to rest. For weekends of solo adventures exploring new cities (being a tourist in your own state is the best). For short-lived snow. For hikes with friends. For coffee with mentors. For submitting applications. And for remembering to give yourself some grace, too.

I don't know what to expect for February, but I know time will tell.

p.s. January, you were also the looonnngessttt month to date. I know everyone and their mom was posting this, but it honestly felt like we reached January 73rd or something.
