DECEMBER IN PHOTOS.

Dear December,

I have longed for your arrival for some time now. Playing Christmas music early and non-stop. Listening to Advent podcasts. And Christmas morning. There's still a magic about Christmas, even if the presents under the tree are ones you chose out yourself.

The Advent season was a sweet reminder of all that I have to look forward to, and I'm not just talking about the end of 2020.Throughout the month, as I listened to podcasts on Advent, I was reminded that my hope does not lie in a person or a calendar, but in Jesus and Him alone.

Having a couple weeks away from work was also a welcomed sight this month. Time at home to work on trainings and lesson plans allowed me to take a literal breather from having to wear a mask all day (is it weird that I now feel naked without a mask on??). And I got some time to sleep in, drive around at night looking at neighborhood Christmas lights, and bake (and eat!) all the holiday goodies.

Christmas was quieter, but cozy and actually surprisingly delightful. New traditions with immediate family. Zoom with extended family. A heated blanket to keep me warm(er) at night. And lots of walks with beanies and warm fuzzy winter boots.

December, you were short and sweet. And I wish this break could last a little bit longer but I'm equally excited to see what January has in store for us.
